Nope. Funny thing is, I'm usually instant with a name. But not this time for some reason. We've been calling them 'fluff' and 'scruff' which will have to suffice until something better comes along. Might call them after ma and pa - so would be Tom and Lou. What do you think?

I wud stick with Fluff and Scruff - my last doggy to die was called Puppy - he was 14 when he died - last year - - but his actual name was OLIVER but he was always called Puppy You may do the same give them a name but still call them Fluff & Scruff j x

Sorry about Oliver jenny I quite like the idea of having 'real' names and 'everyday' names. Fluff is very fluffy but Scruff isn't scruffy. She's a rather neat little tabby. Jars with me somehow. We'll get there.

Call them Butters and Timmy hehe I'll let you have those names that I was going to use ;D
I can't really say anything about naming with animals called Eric, Shadda, Schmickles, Percy and Arfer.

Looks like she's putting on weight nicely Shrub Well, she's not what you'd called 'plump' jlo, but she is filling out thankfully.

Not all cats are plump Shrub, my ginger tabby looks really scraggy compared to the other two, but he does stay out most of the night and sleeps all day

Oh an active little fella then. Does he bring you 'presents'? Holly's taken to spending nights out too. Have no idea where she gets to.

Oh Shrub, he doesn't bring many presents home now but when he was younger he used to visit next door and liked to bring their T towels home. One night he must have sneaked in, during the early hours when their dog was in the garden answering the call of nature and tried to drag their oven gloves through the cat flap. Poor dog was out side howling as he couldn't get back in. We used to find all sorts of things that he used to bring home and leave in the dining room. plastic bags, leaves, fluffy toys ..... I think he has finally realised that hunting is more fun and there are the occasional remains Our Vet did say that ginger cats were a law unto themselves Then there were the pork chops from 3 doors down .... Then there was the goldfish flapping on my decking ......

He sounds like a right character. ;D Must have brought you endless amusement jlo. Well, I'm sure of one thing, I'll never completely understand the way a cat's mind works. Which I dont mind. They are creatures of mystery and I love them for it. Sounds a bit daft but do you know what I mean?

He sounds like a right character. ;D Must have brought you endless amusement jlo. And the understanding neighbours Shrub My black & white cat always looks for my OH and I come a poor second, the ginger one loves anyone who will fuss and feed him including the neighbours, but my black female follows me where ever and she is now curled up asleep at my feet - wouldn't change any of them ;D

just wondering what i've let myself in for. i've always kept dogs. i had 5 at one point. sadly they've all gone now and to have another one would mean replacing all the fencing, so i took a kitten from the local cat protection league. we couldn't think what to call him ,coming up with all fancy names, till one morning i was calling, come on izzy wizzy lets get busy to him. well the izzy bit stuck and thats his name. so far he's learned to climb the curtains and the wallpaper and is always hovering round the bird cage. but revenge is sweet i have a christmas present for him, his bits are coming of in december ;D on the plus side he's very amusing to watch and very lovable, he likes to sleep under my chin

Hello beanie. Izzy's a great name for a cat ;D He'll bring you endless hours of entertainment (mostly at his or your expense!!! ) BTW, what a sensible Christmas present - will stop all sorts of unwanted behaviours - like spraying for instance and tends to 'calm' them down somewhat. Sounds like you've fallen in love. I think they're great animals and would never be without them.

yep i think i am , i didn't realise i'd get so attached so quickly, this morning he's helping me on the computer, mainly chasing the curser round the screen and standing on the keyboard so everything goes haywire

Beanie, shads has a habit of sitting on my laptop and he can do stuff that I don't know how to do!
Schmickles likes watching the cursor but I stop moving it when she's looking because she's got a habit of just sticking her claws into things and I don't think the laptop screen would cope with that!
Shads is just a food whore and only cuddles up to you if he thinks it'll get him fed. He's sat next to me at the moment on the sofa and Schmickles is tear arsing around upstairs having a mad half hour.

Schmickles is having a mad half hour with yet another scouring pad from the sink They're not safe anywhere! Ones out the bathroom and kitchen have all gone missing. I've no doubt we'll find them under the bed/cupboards when we move house.

Yep she seems to be doing ok now jenny. Filling out rather nicely. She's completely 'gone off' her babes though. Not a nice mummy cat at all. The little tabby in particular can get a right 'thwack' if she's not careful. Still doesn't stop her going back for more though!

Hi Shrub ;D Thinking of names (not sure if you've called them anything yet), what about Hector and Kiki (Hector's House!) S x

Post by Shrubrose on Oct 5, 2007 17:51:16 GMT
Oh I remember Hector's House Suse. ;D boy kitty is definitely not a Hector - too, too rough and tumble. He's a right little bruiser. No 'class' at all. Whereas little girlie could be a kiki. Will run it past OH. The acid test is, being stood on the doorstep, calling out their names. ;D

That's why Shadda is Shadda and not Shadow. I didn't want to be calling out Shadow every time I wanted him to come along. Shouting Eric out across the field is another matter....

...Will run it past OH. The acid test is, being stood on the doorstep, calling out their names. ;D When I got my last springer, she was about a year old and called Dolly... couldn't see myself calling Dolly, Dolly.... Over the course of the three weeks before I could collect her due to a holiday, and having decided on the more shoutable Bess (bit more explosive, Bess!) I got the kennel to call her firstly Dollybess for a week or so, then Bess. Answered to Bess perfectly on collection, but was so sweetly biddable, I can't remember ever having to shout... OM.
