Chuckles how are the little walking stick cabbages doing? Are they still growing? I am in 'planning the plot' mode and was just wondering where I am going to plant mine Gets a bit windy round my veggie patches at times and they grow a bit tall to rely on a cane for support. x Tig

What you two like no secret honest. Mine were just sown in ordinary compo in small cells and popped in the GH (not heated) germinated in 7 days as I recall and this is how they looked 1st week in December, not grown much since then.

Well since my last post they have put on a growing spurt and I reckon they will have to go outside soon, they must be at least 5" tall now I've got 2 plastic pop bottles ready to put over them and will stick two stakes in the ground and tie the bottles to them or they will most probably get blown away. Will take photos when I've planted them. Any results from anyone else, did anyone manage to get any to germinate last year I'm gonna sow my other 2 seeds end of Feb, it says late March to April but when did I ever take notice of instructions ;D

I'll follow your lead Chuckles and sow two at the end of February. Not much space left on the windowsill and I have so many plans for things to get sowing x Tig

I'm leaving mine a bit Chuckles. We're quite high here and it tends to be a bit colder for longer so I'll do them end Feb/early March. They'll stay in the GH until I'm sure they're ok to go out and I'm going to put them in tubs (well anchored, so's they dont tip over ;D). Wish me luck!

Can't decide where to plant them yet and talk of frosts for the next 5 nights so I'm holding fire on planting, but here they are ;D I put the Secs in the middle so you can see how tall they are, the one on the left is just over 7" tall

Chuckles I am going to sow two tomorrow night ... I think I will go for the biodegradable pots, so I won't have to upset them when they get planted in the veggie plot I have compost warming in the house ready to give them a cosy start x Tig

Whey Hey Whoop Whoop watch out for the triffids growing in the garden ;D Oh yes we must make it a bit of a compo, we could have the shortest, the longest, the thickest, the thinest and anything in between ;D Not put mine in the garden yet because of this horrid freezing weather, next week they'll be out in the garden though Whats happening with the other WSC growers I wonder, they are very quiet

Wonder if I could make a hockey stick out of WSC?) I'm going for the shortest and the thinnest specimen ;D ;D ;D

Well I reckon mine germinated in about 5 days when I sowed them back in October. Fingers crossed for you all, I will sow the other couple of seeds this week. GH you mixed in with your others cabbage will really make folk think won't it This is how mine looked yesterday, approx 8" high and gagging to be planted out. Was going to do it last week but never got round to it, now this week we've got all this wind rain and my veg garden is soooooo exposed, end of this week they go in come hell or high water ;D

Sowed my last 3 seeds on the 3/3 in little individual pots in ordinary compo and kept them in the cold GH. Checked today and all 3 have just poked through, so 18 days to germinate. Has anyone else got any to germinate yet What the hell am I going to do with 5 of the dammed things
