Remember the Walking Stick Cabbage I sowed on Oct 25th 2007 and planted out in the garden on April 1st 2008, well this a pic of it taken at the end of Dec 2008. It's still growing and is just a few inches taller now than on this pic.

It's become part of the garden now, odd looking thing really isn't it. Whether I'll end up with a stick, we will see. Pop back this time next year maybe ;D

I had two of these since june/july , I know I planted them to late but I was impatient and I have saved the rest of the packet for proper times, but the snow made them wilt they got quite sizable in that short time though. about 1.5M

Don't worry about the snow making them wilt, mine went through the harsh winters, but perked up once the thaw came. Fingers crossed they survive - biggest challenge I had with the last lot was stopping them blowing over in the gales, they get very top heavy! Oh and ;D Tig

ok, take it back, somehow they look perkyer than before. its as though while they were wilted they grew about a foot while my back was turned. sneaky devils will need repoting.

;D How do you stake them when they are in a pot? Won't they just blow over pot and all?

While tidying the shed out the other week I came across something hanging wired up in the roof space my walking stick cabbage stick that I sowed 2007. I just cut it off and had hung it up there to dry
