For us tomorrow night it's going to be curried scouse judging by the amount OH has made, but I did have chicken and pine nuts in mind. The rest of the scouse might have to go in the freezer coz I don't fancy it curried!!! ;D

OH is usually the curry-cooker in this house but it would be a surprise for him if I gave one a go! ;D I do a mean curry myself here is the recipe it's very very very easy, I call it the 3 step recipe. 1. When the OH cooks a curry place ANY leftovers in a Chinese takeaway carton and freeze, you can top this up until full. 2. First thing in the morning (after OH has gone to work) get 2 full Chinese takeaway cartons out of the freezer and leave to defrost. 3. Before OH gets home put contents in an oven proof dish and heat thoroughly, serve with Basmati rice and warm Nanns. When OH gets home tell him you have been slaving over a hot stove all day ;D ;D. It took him a while to realize what I was up to ;D ;D

(window open tonight methinks) I got a curry bible for my birthday which is full of wonderful recipes...made a beef madras last week which was amazing...even if it did take me all afternoon to cook...OH was my slave for days afterwards.... ;D

Roasted pepper and tomato soup with cheese and onion sandwiches. Made from crusty bread and 'real' butter
Ps. Not homemade soup but from Aldi's in a carton ... the best I've tried

Last night for T I made a veggie lasagne Fried onion, carrots, mushrooms and the sauce was a carton of Tesco's Tomato and Basil soup which I poured over, grated cheese over the top and baked for 35 mins Yuk Yuk Yuk and Minging Yuk I have never used a ready made sauce before and the lasagne had a tinny taste Never again I normally make a bechamel sauce or similar so will stick to what I know best next time Had to get out the chockie biscuits to take the taste away

Oh Jenny! I hope you have a nicer dinner tonight!
I'm making pasta with brocolli and cheese sauce for LP and her friend, and they can make jam tarts together before that. And for OH and me later on I'm doing panfried chicken in lemon-juice served with carmargue rice cooked in chicken stock, with parsley, parmesan and pine-nuts. Deeeeelicious!

Inspired by you all I set forth...I made a sort of cottage pie....leftover roast chicken, sliced leeks, chopped carrot and swede...in a savoury white sauce. Topped with creamy mash served with savoy cabbage & chestnuts (watched James on TV this arvo!)...had to make Godzilla gravy tho....he likes his gravy. It was surprisingly tasty...got the thumbs up from OH and SO FAR no signs of any ructions in the windipop department...... ;D

I am going to have a go at making proper Cornish pasties tonight - OH has had a terrible cold and I made the mistake of asking him what he would like!Serves me right!
I found a recipe in Farmhouse Kitchen - it was a t.v. series about 25 years ago! Anyway this recipe was from the W.I in Truro and it sounds good!(Dorothy Sleightholme?)
I will let you know how I get on!

Homemade Cornish Pasties.....I remember making them at school, getting the top to 'crimp' was abit tricky ;D !! I think we did a few weeks of 'pastry' cooking including a quiche or 'egg and bacon flan' as it was known then.........Happy Memories!!! ;D Anyhow, tonight were having Toad in the Hole (one of the OH's favourites) with sausage from my local farmers market, onion gravy, and alltoment veggies!!!

I joined weight watchers today...so I've been to Tescos and now I'm going to desperately try and make something tasty for Godzilla and myself out of all that terribly healthy looking food that I bought.
