You are welcome Plocket. I too love those unusual Amaryllis but they are hardly ever in the shops and specialist growers are sown thin . Now Crawley ;D His counterpart is the Angel Aziraphale. Yes Crawley is the one holding Hells annex on earth. Neither Hell nor Heaven is paying much attention to humans as they are blinded by their own schemes. So Crawly when in the neighbourhood does things for Aziraphale too and the other way around. They have gotten along fine as mankind is much more capable of dealing with wrong and right than they are. ( Crawley ( the snake that had Eve pick the apple, the rest is known ) even once send an insurance policy down to Hell's torture chambers and wrote on it "Learn guys!" ) Back to plants then. Crawley has the finest collection of house plants there is. Not a blemish on any. Crawley is a perfectionist. When a plant fails his standards he picks it up and shows it to the other plants. Look how disappointing he tells the other plants... He then opens his flat window and drops the plant outside. Looks at the remaining plants and tells them to remember their friend and now did they really want to dissappoint him too? Somehow all plants seemed defenitely greener after that. Mind you my plants don't get the drift when I try this technique ;D

I don't think mine needs any threatening Dutchy, I found it freezing in the PT and I'm hoping that it is so pleased to be brought into the warm, it will burst into life and produce beautiful red flowers again - everything is crossed

Just thought I would post a quick update if anyone is interested. I have finally got round to re-potting the bulbs I decimated earlier !!! They seem to be ok, the bulbs are firm and not slimy or anything. The tops are a bit raggedy, still green right near the bulb tho so I think they will be alright. have potted them in fresh compost and bought them into the light, they are in the unheated front room on the fireplace to make the most of the daylight I will put them in a warmer position in a week or so once they have got over the shock of being in the cold, dark cellar for the past two months! fingers crossed for some flowers then ;D

Oh I'm SOOOOO jealous! I've moved mine into my bedroom where it's fairly warm but the sun shines in beautifully if it's a nice day. The roots look lovely and healthy but there's STILL nothing happening.

I haven't had one for years and we were in the local supermarket in our village and they had some in pots with buds......needless to say I bought one. My OH wanted red and I wanted white so we now have a red and white one!!
I shall be coming back to this thread to see what I do after it has finished flowering...it is years and years since I had one.
