Ooo that orange tulip is glorious Tig. Looks good enough to eat doesn't it? I used to have a lovely berberis too PJ - bronze foliage and a lovely yellow flower. It was a monster and loved being pruned, coming back with loads of new growth. It had to go in the end but it broke my heart to take it out. It was just in the wrong place!

Wonder why that was? Were they last year's? Don't think they do well after the first year. Not for me anyway Funnily enough they are (or have been anyway!) the most successful tulips I've had. I bought five bulbs a few years ago and they have done well for at least three years. This year though only two came up, and only one produced a flower, which was quite small. I'd certainly try them again though because they are so lovely.

I do mine in pots, but on here somewhere, I have read that they are more likely to continue to do well if planted in the ground, so this autumn, I'm going to try that. I'm going to buy this variety again too. It is very striking.
