Thanks Amo, unfortunately, I've been 'accused' of tweaking my pics on photoshop, or the like rendering them unfair for the POTM comp I reiterate again, that it's all down to my camera, and nothing else S x

Anyone else notice the difference in the colour of digital photos taken of the same object at different times of day? The poppy has opened a little bit this morning and is full of black pollen And this little group of 'cheap and cheerful' calendulas .. x Tig

Still having a bit of trouble figuring out how to get the pics at the right size for posting. Chuckles gave me some advice on how to manage it, but still haven't quite got the hang of it. <have-to-try-harder-smiley>

Don't ask awkward questions Susie!! It's a cactus and I keep it in the G/h. I've had it for about a hundred years and neglected it for all that time but it still flowers for me every year. I'm ashamed to post a photo of the whole plant 'cos the b*st*rd slugs have eaten the leaves and it's got self seeded lobelia growing in the pot with it! My plants thrive on neglect. I will look it up and post the name.......................but you can't grow it in the garden I'm afraid.

Susie. I can't find it so I've posted on the exotics thread in the G/H section to see if anyone knows it. Sorry to get you all excited about a bright red blowsy flower!! If they were pink I'd send you a couple and you could decorate your bra with them ;D ;D (BTW I haven't really had it for a 100 years. I'm not quite that old meself you know....though feel it sometimes).

CHEEKY!!! This is what Chuckles said and I agree with her -
I reckon it looks like an Epiphyllum - Orchid Cacti SR. I have a red one too. Infact I've really neglected mine and it has been out in the poly all winter and survived I noticed a couple of buds on it today but the plant itself looks like it should be put on the compost heap

Lotus ............another of my fav summer plants! This is a strange one, trailing petunia that opens pink and gradually turns to a lovely terracotta colour as the flower matures! I'm not normally a petunia lover but this one is gorgeous! I was lucky to have the sun behind the flower for this one! S x

I've got a lot of californian Poppies, 1. 'cos they like poor soil and 2. 'cos OH likes them. Most are orange with a few yellow and a couple of cream ones. But this one is really Bronzy, burnt orange. Love it!!
