It is Viburnum opulus Chuckles -geulder rose or snowball bush Thanks I thought I knew it. Thinking about it I used to get a problem with the leaves, lots of tiny holes. Is it prone to be attacked by any specific insect.......Any ideas ? I found the cutting I have ;D no holes in the leaves thankfully.

I have Viburnum Opulus and it's just starting to flower for the first time, it was given to me and as it grew I realised it was really two. I've got one here and one at the allotment. My flowers are much more flat looking.

I don't have it either, but I do actually like it. The petal markings remind me of snowdrops

Rosefriend, nope I don't have that one. I'd need to see it in the flesh to decide if I truely like it or not but from here, yes I do. Is it scented?

I've never noticed one like that either, I think it probably looks alright when the flowers first open , they all soon look a bit tatty once past there best, I would keep cutting it, enjoy it at its best .

Hmm, I agree with Auricula - it's got a snowdrop look about the petals so that must be a good thing. Have you got a name for it Rosefriend?

Jasmine, Auricula, Ladygardener, maggy, isabella, It is Phlox paniculata Mystic Green !! I had forgotten that I had bought it (on a whim) and it was the first time that it really flowered this year - very big flowers as well...the bees and butterflies are wild about it !!
