Wow to all the photo's. I love these virtual bugs WT I think as a kid we went looking for them did we not? I remember climbing trees and yes doing serious damage to my shoes, not to mention other articles. We knew where to find them and after a hard day at the office we kids returned home with maybe four or five in a glass jar. So maybe that is why we do not see them that often anymore. Not because we cought them all but because we do not really search for them. Fancy a bout of tree climbing?

Saw something earlier today that I'd never seen before. One of my garden spiders had caught not 1 but 2 honey bees. It was busy enjoying one while the other was wrapped in a parcel in it's web. I decided to take a couple of pictures of it and while I was doing so, a wasp buzzed by and started trying to pull one of the bees out of the web, no doubt looking for an easy meal itself. The spider raced over and they ended up having a bit of a wrestling match before the wasp thought better of it and buzzed off. This isn't the greatest picture but it was all sort of over in a few seconds Spidey came off best and was left to enjoy her meal ! FA x

Garden spiders tend to sit pretty still in their webs and are good subjects for macro photography.
Loving your new avatar by the way, Tig. It makes me smile every time I see it !
Cheers FA x

These were in the heart of my purple sprouting broc! And this .. may not have lived much longer x Tig

Thanks Tig. I get blurred ones too and have found that one of my problems was and still is keeping the camera really really steady, it's so easy to move it as you click. Even if you have the thingymegig setting that helps with the odd shakey moment. Also I've found it better to use the eye viewer rather than the screen viewer when taking photo's. Saying that, I didn't with that spider because I daren't get too close to it ;D Also your Macro will only work to a certain distance and if you go nearer to your subject than the distance of your Macro you can get blurred/out of focus photo's. For example, mine can go as close as 1cm, so, if I go nearer to the subject than 1cm the photo will be out of focus. Hope that makes sense and helps. Don't give up, have a play. Your photo's are good

Those photo's are fantastic Chuckles and my skin is crawling - I hate this type, the Cross spiders. There are so many of them this year as well.
Well done.

Ooh look at those spikey leggs on it. I love them. If ( notice I am not using when ) you approach them carefully from behind you can gently stroke them. You hardly feel them on your finger tips which is odd as they look so solid somehow. I know I am mad
