Also your Macro will only work to a certain distance and if you go nearer to your subject than the distance of your Macro you can get blurred/out of focus photo's. For example, mine can go as close as 1cm, so, if I go nearer to the subject than 1cm the photo will be out of focus. Hope that makes sense and helps. Don't give up, have a play. Your photo's are good 1cm... 1cm...? blimey, much closer and they'll be coming round the back to look through the viewfinder with you... OM.

Depends on the make and model of the camera Suparuthie. Some cameras, like Susie's, have a macro built in. Others require a macro lens. If you let me know the make and model of the camera, I'll have a look around for you if you like.

I don't see how I could buy a lens for it as it's not a SLR so I may have to put it on my Christmas list and hope (I can see a flying pig already!!)

It's got a macro distance of 2cm, which isn't bad. If you want to get closer, you'd have to get a new camera though. I can recommend the Canon Powershot S5 (I only have an S2, which is now obsolete). Thanks FA. Am I thick or what. When I first got it I did know about the macro but sort of forgot how to engage it. Just taken a picture of my computer mouse at about 2cm and it looks pretty sharp!! Not going to post it tho'. I need to have a few drinks before I tackle Photobucket and I'm on the wagon tonight after last night at the Diggit!!!

Todays best snaps - Hawthorn Shield Bug (I think this provided the idea for shoulder pads!) And what I think is a Silver Y Owlet Moth - which didn't stop flapping its wings! Little tinker - no camera sense ;D

Wow well done Tig.I will never get fed up of seeing your macro garden criters. This is a learning thread for me i have never seen the dreaded Vine weeval adult in the flesh but your pics are fab i now know what im looking for. I have found plenty of there grubs in my pots but have always not been sure of the adult there is so many differant beetles it confusing as to the goodies and baddies.

Brilliant one of the shield bug Tig. Horrible as they can be - you've got to have respect for insects haven't you? They are so well put together!
