Looks like everyone has the Macro Bug ;D This is not the best slug photo, but my lense was literally on the path and I'm sure the damm thing blew me a kiss I was so close ;D I think this is probably my best one for showing the detail, taken several weeks ago

Susie It's you that got me started!!!! I also have a Fujifilm - it's a Finepix E900, OH bought it for my birthday in 2006. I have only started to get to grips with it in the last few months. I had an Olympus Camedia C-350 zoom Digital Camera previously which served me well and I knew how to get reasonable pics - but there is so much to remember with the new one Tig

You are too kind RF - but I'm just an amateur snapper having fun and learning It is a real bonus to be able to see the details of the little critters - so much better than can be seen with the naked eye. It is an adventure for me as well, a bit like entering unchartered territory! I hope they don't put other people off posting - I like to see what everyone else can find in their gardens and plots too

Just seen a Hawthorn sheild bug for the first time today. It was on my bedroom window sill. It must have flown in the open window. It made a noise thats what alerted me to it. I didnt kill it but caught it in a tissue and put it out the window. Question are they goddies or baddies?

Favourite food is hawthorn berries SO, then hawthorn leaves, they will eat oak tree leaves as well I believe, but I don't think they do much damage - maybe someone else will think differently! Today I found this hiding in my Choisya I think it is a common wasp - Vespula Vulgaris (it was 1" long) Tig

As long as it does not sting couse then it might become a Vespula Mortis
Tig I love your pics. And guess what, we have the same cam. We could share some moans about how complicated things can be.

Ha ha Dutchy - complicated - I'm still working my way through the manual - and have yet to try quite a few 'features'! Today - I snapped a fly having a drink, and a couple of caterpillars that had taken an early morning shower!

Chuckles - super photos - I love seeing the close details that come with macro shots - the wonders of technology eh! Tig Funnily enough, I was thinking the same thing this morning. I was in the loft and looking through some old photo's taken on film. It's amazing how grainy they looked and how many were blurred. If you'd have said 20 years ago that you'd be able to take ultra close-up macro shots, download them to a PC and share them with the world in less than 5 minutes, it would have seemed utterly ridiculous !
