After the rain and now moist humid conditions the fungi have started to bloom in certain areas. Spotted several this morning, including .. and these Birds Nest Fungus - cyathus olla x Tig

What a shame - quite a clue in the name, I agree... but the 'meatyness' is appealing. I've never seen it. If names were the ultimate 'steer' as to edibility, who would want puffballs with his bacon and eggs? OM

After the rain comes ... ;D There is something very pretty about it Tig, especially with the black edging. I wonder if it's poisionous, remember they used to have letters edged in black when there was a death.

I spotted this in the week - no idea what it is called, nice purple one? x Tig It looks like a Wood Blewit from the photo I never used to take much notice of mushrooms, but now have a fascination towards them. Think I will have to enrole myself on a course to learn more about them, but too late for this year.
