Well - what a day yesterday - didn't get the 37degC thank heavens but got a 90min thunderstorm in the morning and then it heated up to 30deg and we got an incredible storm in the evening - lost power 4 times...loads of trees down etc - smashed plants here but no major damage..
Back to heat again today and a storm later...

wow you don't do things by half in Germany Rosefriend. It's mild here this morning, it's amazing what a difference having a breeze instead of strong winds makes. It's aobut 14c but very plesant.

Well we had 50l/m2 within an hour which means we won't be watering for a few days - some got a lot more and flooded cellars. The GH is still standing and that is really good news!! RF

It will have been a good test for the greenhouse panels RF - the garden here is getting desperate for some prolonged rain. We had a really light shower this morning but it barely damped the surface and it's evaporated now. It grey and humid but only 17c

We had some rain - enough to fill my water butt, but part of the garden was still dry. It was more fine drizzle all day rather than 'proper' rain. Today looks windy and it's grey skies - again.

I see on the news this morning that Calgary in Canada is being evacuated due to excessive flooding! There appear to be weather related problems worldwide at the moment.
Grey again here, a little light drizzle again but not enough to get down to the roots of the plants. Humid and 18c at the moment.

Goodness Rosefriend, your weather has been dreadful. Bad enough for a mention in the regional papers and the Fire Brigade was called out 23 times on Wednesday evening and I heard the siren yesterday evening as well. I hope it stops soon as we were in the cellar and the walls are incredibly damp and it has started to seep through the floor a little bit... RF

It's very warm again here, and last night was bad for sleeping, I woke exhausted and the duvet was on the floor, we haven't had the rain they promised. no surprise there then.

Neither have we Barbara, and the sun came out and it's been scorching, I did a bit of planting out and the sweat was running down my face and dripping off my chin! And I've got several mozzie bites

We had clouds and sun, no rain. It has rained a little overnight, but although it was drizzling earlier, it isn't now.

Well it seems as the storms that have hit Germany in the last 3 days have come to an end, many cellars under water, trees down but on the whole nothing the firebridage hasn't sorted or insurances will cope wth. We have been lucky although we have had nearly 90l/m2 - much more and it would have started seeping through the walls and floor.. Bit of sun and showers today but not the torrectional rain that we have had...hopefully I can get the GH's open and watered although there is still a hefty wind !!

Windy here this morning as well and we've had a bit of rain but not enough to really soak the ground. More on the way for the rest of the weekend.

It is rainy, cool and miserable here and it's the village fair How rotten for everyone who's worked hard on it. We saw some swooping over the fields the other day Rosefriend but I'm not sure if they were swallows or house martins. They seem to like the open expanse for swooping up and down. Not today probably though.
