This one has green clover leaves but white flowers Ladygardener, the one in my wild flower book is white but the one when I googled is yellow, it is quite pretty if it would stay in just one clump but this year I had 3 large clumps, when I dug it up it had tiny little bulbs on the bottom.

Ah yes, a lot of wild flowers are really pretty but the fact they're so invasive makes it difficult to have them in the beds and borders maggy.

Tig I've noticed that our Honeysuckle finally has some beautiful little flowers on it. I'm delighted and they smell wonderful. It's 2 or 3 years old now and we're training it around an arch. I know you grow it too, can you advise me about pruning? The flowers are just starting to come out at the moment, way behind yours but do you think we should let it grow right up the archway before pruning or cut it back when the flowers are finished?

You can prune them into shape once the flowers finish LG, usually around the end of March to early April. Ours is still flowering it's socks off. They seem to respond well to pruning, or at least mine does. Yours is still quite young and if you are trying to train it perhaps just cut back any wayward side shoots. Ours is more a bushy shrub & doesn't have a climbing habit.

We have a honeysuckle on the back fence , it’s so sad looking I think I’ve only seen a couple of flowers ! If that! Any tips, ? It is now though lurking behind the big shrub rose .
I bought a garlic bulb from GC yesterday , do I split it or plant full thing? I’ve never had any success with it before, but must admit I just planted old sprouting bits from kitchen.

As far as the Garlic is concerned you split it all into cloves... Keep your eyes on the Garlic thread for 2023 maggy, I am going to take another pic today.. gardenworld.proboards.com/post/613325/threadHoneysuckle I will leave to someone else - I couldn't kill mine, I dug it out 3 times before I finally got shot of it...

We have a few summer honeysuckles in different spots in the garden maggy. As far as I know the advice is to cut it back after flowering. Good luck with the Garlic, each small section should make it's own bulb for you.

We have 2 Hellebore which I brought from my own garden a few years ago. Mostly the beautiful creamy white one but there is also another one with it which is a beautiful pink. I'm going to dig them up and see if I can separate the roots but wonder when would be the best time to do this? Tig as our Hellebore expert what would you advise?

If they have finished flowering you can move them now LG, but I would remove the flower stalks and make sure you get them planted at the same depth they were growing at. Otherwise wait until autumn. I have lifted them and potted them up in large pots so I can keep them out of full sun and well watered until they've settled back into growth, but if you get plenty of rainfall they can go into the ground where you want them.

Thanks very much Tig, I'll dig them up over the next few weeks all being well then as it's very difficult to get to where they are once everything else is growing up around them. They still have flowers that have'nt started to go to seed yet so I'll leave them for another while, they're hiding in behind a lot of Monarda and Hydrangea and can be seen up until about end of may or so.

Inspect plants that wilt and die. If the roots look eaten then take a look in the soil for vine weevil larvae. Centipedes and insect eating birds will eat vine weavils so welcome them into your garden.
I didn't know until today centipedes ate VW grubs, but I was cleaning out a pot that had a few in and saw a centipede on one and asked google and got the above answer,

Interesting bit of information Barbara, I leave them out for the birds to eat if I find any. Didn't know centipedes like them too. As an aside we were talking about centipedes and millipedes at nursery this morning and one of the boys asked if there was an 80pede. He is going to be so smart!

I buy from dutch-bulbs.com/....which I actually find a bit better than Farmer Gracy quite a lot...the bulbs are very good. Unfortunately, it looks to me as though they do not deliver to the UK anymore, only Ireland...

That's a shame Rosefriend - it looks like you are right. Their website is set out in a similar way to FG.

I checked them out before Jasmine but it costs £20 to deliver to ROI. Unless you spend over 100Euro and then it is free... Very cheap for me - 6.95E or 3.95E over 50E...

I just checked shipping for the UK - it's £8.45 if your order is less than £50, free if it is over. I think that's quite dear. £20 is very dear Ladygardener.

I am amazed at some of the delivery charges these days - I do so wonder if it really is justified...

I don't know what's going on with the birds this morning but I have two blackbirds, four doves and about a dozen sparrows going demented out in the back garden, chasing each other about.

Is there a cat hiding in the plants somewhere Barbara, or perhaps in a neighbours garden? Sometimes I get sparrow-hawks and they will set alarms off for all the birds, especially those with youngsters.
