Whereabouts in Essex are you ? I played a lot of senior football in and around Suffolk & Essex over the years. Can't remember if I played against Chelmsford though. I don't think so but I might have played against them pre-season.

Great Wakering, home of Great Wakering Rovers FC, if I'm not mistaken. I have definitely played against them !
You're not that far from me. I'm in Sudbury and used to play for both Sudbury Town and Sudbury Wanderers over the years.

Sudbury Town and Sudbury Wanderers merged into AFC Sudbury a few years ago (I think it was 1999). I'd finished playing by then though - I packed in when I was 29 (about 11 years ago). Sudbury Town used to play at the Priory stadium. It's being turned into a housing estate now though, sadly When the 2 clubs merged, they sold the Priory and moved to Sudbury Wanderers old ground at Brundon Lane, now called the King's Marsh Stadium. I've just looked at the AFC Sudbury website - they played Gt Wakering on 12 January !! FA x

UP THE CITY I to support a City, but its only non-league,of the bigger boys,i have a soft spot for the Boro, not that i have any connection with them, just that when i was a school boy my idol was Wilf Mannion,England and Boro.
