Well another year of scintillating, full on attacking, TOTAL fottball, drew to its conclusion yesterday when we hammered a lowly southern coast team. They claim to be playing at Wembley next week, a likely story.
I cannot wait wait for next years sequel

i dont know FB but i think the fans are just enjoying the buzz at the moment, we have always seen the lighter side of footie as in blow up bananas and dressing up for games, some say we have to amuse our selves as the football doesnt but i prefer this way to being as fanatical as some i could mention ;D

One of the guys at work (who lives and breathes ManUre) was saying that we were owned by "raghead terrorists". I said better that than clueless Americans and he said better clueless Americans than Bin Laden... I had to point out his lack of geographical skills at this point as to where AbuDhabi is and Afghanistan and the social and economic differences between the 2 countries. I also pointed out that the consortium is worth well over 15 BILLION pounds.
Another guy at work said "they'll soon get bored of spending their money". I then pointed out that even if they spent ONE billion pounds, they'd still have at least 14 BILLION pounds so I don't think money is really an issue for them LOL
I'm just waiting for the ManUre fans to start whinging that City are buying their way to trophies etc because it's funny how easily they forget. I think they're just sulking cos our owner is considerably richer than theirs (harry enfield stylie).
I just hope that we'll stop being regarded as a bit of a joke and the poor relations in Manchester and start being taken seriously as a big club.
And if anyone's to blame for all these superclubs, it's Sky because these billionaires are just going where the money is and Sky pay an awful lot of it along with all the advertising they bring.

There is only 1 way to success at the top of English footie and that's money. Man Utd did bring through lots of good players with the Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Nevilles era but when was the last time a youth player made it through and established themselves in the first team at Man U or Chelsea ?
The sad thing is, footie has become so predictable at the top end these days that I hardly even take notice of it any more. I tend to watch Ipswich because on our day we could beat anybody or just as easily lose to anyone but I even find that a bit tedious sometimes. I think football as we knew and loved it is dead, killed by the money men and the over exposure on tv. I wouldn't mind betting that in a few years, crowds plummet, tv money dries up and lots of clubs go to the wall.
I love footie but at the moment, I'd rather watch NFL.

I like rugby league, much more interesting but that season is nearly up. NFL takes too long IMO. I know the Americans don't have a very long attention span ( ) but all the stopping and starting gets on my nerves. Plus big fat guys pottering around in lycra outfits <shudders>

I know he plays for my team but what an absolute bloody disgrace. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/suffolk/7720615.stmI think the bloody idiot should be made to go and do unpaid work with the victims and families of drink drive accidents. Maybe then he wouldn't be so willing to show support for his moron of a friend. Drink driving is one of my pet hates. If one of my friends killed 2 people after driving his car while drunk, he would no longer be my friend. Simple as that. FA x

he should be sacked.

Post by Deleted on Nov 10, 2008 19:49:19 GMT
They won't sack him because they paid (by our standards) a lot of money for him in January - £2million. I'd be prepared to do without him for a couple of games if he was banned or dropped.
What I don't understand is why, if he wanted to support a friend, he couldn't write, phone or visit him in prison. Why did he have to do it so publicly ?
I don't know but I wouldn't mind betting he doesn't have children himself. Maybe if and when he does, he might have a different perspective on what happened.

One win and jump from 19th to 10th crazy league. Still must not complain that is posibly the second of our usual 5 wins per season. Hope my finger nails are strong come next May.
