For just about the first time this season, I have something to smile about where footie is concerned.
Ipswich 3
[glow=red,2,300]Norwich 2[/glow]
Lets hope that helps put Norwich down to League 1 (or "Division 3" as it should still be called ;D ;D ;D ;D).

Aaah....you could have let them win ( after all you have nothing to play for!!) Poor old Delia No chance ! Didn't do Jim Magilton a lot of good though. We still sacked him today. As I've been calling for him to go for some months now, I'm quietly pleased but I'm not saying too much until I see who we get in to replace him ;D FA x

Well FA, you got grumpy keane what do you think about that then. I'm going to have to reserve judgement on him for now. My initial reaction was that it was a bad signing for us. He's too high profile for a club like Ipswich and has too much "baggage". However, he does have a track record of getting a club from mediocrity in the Championship to the Premier league in 1 season and we have got an owner who is prepared to spend so we'll have to wait and see. I have to say, I've never really liked him as a person and thought that his admission that his "tackle" (or should that be "assault") Alf Inge Haaland (a tackle that ended Haaland's career) was deliberate was one of the most despicable things I've ever heard in respect of a footballer. I remain to be convinced that he is the right man for the job. FA x

I'm inclined to agree Andy - doesn't seem like someone I'd like, but he seems ambitious and coupled with an owner who is forward thinking and with a few bob to spare, who knows? At least Colchester were in no danger of Lambert being poached ( unlike Judas Burley ) after all....who'd want Lambert??? ;D ;D

I'm happy with a 3-0 win away at one of the top sides in the division but I won't put it down to the "Keane effect". Cardiff got battered 6-0 by Preston last week so they're obviously on a bit of a bad run.

Honestly don't care who wins tonight. I'd like to say I'd like to see Chelsea win but to be honest, I'm not bothered. People say it shows how good English football is if one of our teams wins the Champions League, but how many English players will there be in Chelsea's team tonight and Man Utd or Arsenal's teams tomorrow ? I don't mind who wins the Champions League, as long as it's not Man Utd. I absolutely detest Ferguson. Horrible man.

Chelsea did well to end in a 0-0 draw but i wish Drogba scored the goal he should have done. Double point now for Barcelona if they score at Stamford Bridge.

I agree about Ferguson,Andy - it's not Man Utd I dislike, just him I detest Freguson, I don't like half their players (particularly Ronaldo) and they have the most arrogant fans in the country. Apart from that, I love them ;D FA x

Chelsea could possibly have had a claim for 2 penalties but I think the last one particularly was just desperation really.
However, I do not see how any Chelsea player could justify their actions at the end of the game. What did they think they were going to achieve ? Did they think the ref might change his mind and award them one of the penalties ? These people get paid millions of pounds a year and should act like sportsmen (and adults !) to act as role models for youngsters, not behave like spoilt brats because they lost. When I saw the way they reacted, I was actually quite pleased they'd lost, to be honest.

PS - I think my SatNav is playing up. I typed in "Chelsea" today and it said "2 minutes from Rome"......... ;D ;D ;D ;D

I can't recall off hand the last time I saw a football match of that level that was refreed so poorly. Mind, I'm definitely not a Chelsea fan and even less an admirer of Mr Money Bags Abramovich (We have his "think alike" in baseball here in the person of one George Steinbrenner; owner of the NY Yankees). But that said I think Chelsea was robbed. As far as the Malouda "non penalty" was concerned, if he gave the offence for the first foul outside the box, why didn't he blow his whistle then? Why wait until second and third fouls insides the box to blow his whistle, then put the ball outside the box where the first call occurred? I don't think there was any question of an "advantage rule" being used, because Malouda never had an advantage from the time the fouling began. As for the Pique "non penalty", how could he have missed what everyone else saw?
Anyway, what's done was done (easy to say I know) and from what I've read about the after match behaviour of the Chelsea players and Drogba in partyicular, I don't think that sort of thing should be left to go unpunished (They didn't bring it here on TV. We get a Setanta/ESPN feed of the matches, so once the match was over they switched to another program). I would think some suspensions without pay to go into next season should be a consideration.
