I'm looking for some info here, guys. Now that Setanta has lost the Premier League games broadcast rights, do they still have broadcast rights for Champions League, the new Europa League, and/or European Cup? Reason I'm asking is that I subscribe to Setanta here, and the only reason I have them is for soccer. I am not a rugby fan - which seems to be their next biggest sports package - or a fan for any of the other stuff they carry. So I have to decide if I am going to keep my subscription with them. Even though the Premier League is my favourite/top choice, I want the other "leagues" as well. So if Setanta will continue to carry Champions League, European Cup etc, then I'll keep the subscription with them. If they've also lost out on those other big soccer schedules, then for sure I'm cancelling. No clear messaging on their webpage about that - surprise. ESPN now has the Premier League rights and I have access to their channel already, but I don't know yet how they intend to handle the Premier League matches; like how many, timing etc. Does anyone know about Setantan and what other big league schedules they still have rights to?

As far as i know TT Setanta has gone bankrupt and is no longer on UK tv. They were supposed to pay for the rights to show premier matches and when they were asked for the money they didnt have it. I dont know how it is outside the UK but they lost the rights to show any more premier matches due to not having the money to pay for them. So i dont think you will be able to watch any more premier matches on Setanta .

Just to add to that TT Setanta has lost all football rights so no there will be no footie on setanta again.

I was pretty sure they weren't going to be carrying any Premier league matches, but I didn't know if they had crashed out of all the other matches. Too bad for them, I suppose. You would never know what has happened to them from their website. It's like "business as usual". I'm going to cancel my subscription with them. That will save me $15 per month. I hope ESPN will be bringing Champions league, European Cup etc. in addition to Premier League.

What sad news about the passing of a true legend, Sir Bobby Robson.
Being an Ipswich fan, he was an absolute hero of mine and I met him once at a soccer school in Ipswich. He was supposed to come in and give us a talk for about 15 minutes but he stayed over an hour, spoke to us all individually and even came and watched us training for a little while.
He was a true gentleman of the game and I don't think we will ever see another like him.
It was very very sad news indeed.

Your right Andy, gents like him are few and far between, I never heard of him slagging off any other managers, or teams, not like some do.

Off to the mecca of football saturday for my annual pilgrimage to the Boleyn ground in E13. Me and my daughter go to this friendly every year where West Ham will be playing Italian giants Napoli in the "Bobby Moore cup". Got the tickets today.....£24 for the pair of us (proceeds to the Bobby Moore cancer research charity).
Can't wait ;D

OK, I'm starting to get a little worried by Ipswich now. Keane has let about 15 players leave or go out on loan and we've only signed 4 or 5 replacements. We haven't got a very big squad so any injuries will really hit us hard and we still haven't signed a decent 20 - 25 goals-a-season striker. I've heard rumours of Tamas Priskin coming from Watford. Who ? Sorry Keano, not good enough. We need a reasonably well known name, someone proven at Championship level. Looks like another season of mid table mediocrity for us FA x

At Man city yesterday they opened the gates to everyone, for a free afternoon of football, they played 3 games , and all the players took part . A pity more teams don't do free stuff for the communities around their stadiums.

You could next season F A, after Keano has taken them down Nah, no chance of that. I can't see us going up but I can't see us going down either. Mind you, plenty of teams have said "we're too good to go down" in the past and ended up getting relegated....... FA x
