Most of them were from Eagle but some of them were from Matthewman. I then decided to look on their websites and see if they had any hints and tips, Matthewman didn't although they invite you to contact them if you want advice but Eagle had this smashing page.... www.eaglesweetpeas.co.uk/Instuctions.htmFortunately, I did almost as they said!!!! ;D

I did mine last week from saved seeds and some are sprouting already. I'll probably get some posh seeds in the spring if my trial seeds don't look too promising

My seeds are from Matthewman's but I will be following the same methodology as usual and will not sow until the end of October.
That just about gives enough time to get the last of the tomato plants out of the GH and give it a wash down inside.

Hi - against the advice in the link above, mine are soaking, ready to be sown tomorrow. I have 20 varieties but managed to narrow down to 10 for tomorrow - rest will follow, time and space permitting. Is there a particular one you are trialling here - I try to keep on eye but may have missed it. Take care - PA

I have planted about 8 varieties so far, but have run out of loo rolls. Looked in Homebase on Friday for grow tubes or root trainers and could not find them. I may end up unravelling a whole case of loo rolls or perhaps ask a few friends and neighbours to save them for me! I have just received my order from Simply Sweetpeas and I will plant those tomorrow if I can. PJ

PJ, use some newspaper rolled into cones its just as good and cheaper than buying gro-tubes, as long as you have a deep tray they will be OK. Carol. ;D

Hi - I sowed mine last Sunday - yesterday I had 7 tiny little "hooks" - today I have 20 odd - they are popping up like "magic" ! I sowed about 80 seed of 10 varieties, I still have another 10 varieties to do. Mine are in poly tubes that DK kindly sent me, and sited in mushroom trays. All carefully labelled by colour coding - a tip I learned here last year. Thanks for link Chuckles, but may wait to see if it narrows down. And I don't think my postage stamp would accomodate onions, but maybe I am wrong. I fancied Sweet Corn but don't have the space, so am considering raspberries. Take care - PA

Hi all .... just sowed T&M sweetpeas, 'Winston Churchill' ... fiery red ;D Sowed half the pack in loo roll inners, topped with mineral bottle cloches, all in an old meat tray, and bunged them in the mini-GH ... will sow the rest in the open ground during the next couple of days. The past couple of years (well, I've only had the garden for a couple of years ;D) have sowed them October/November in the open ground, and they did really well, although this year I forgot to pinch them out ... hopefully doing them under cover will result in even stronger plants ;D ... cheers ...

I have sown most of my sweet peas now. I have been doing them in batches - when loo roll inners and cardboard tubes become available! You will see from the photos that some are already coming up! I am really excited. These babies are a substitute for my son who has just left home for Bristol University PJ

Well, it's been 16 days since I sowed and only 6/32 have so far germinated!!!! Glad I saved some for the spring. Chuckles, it was Roxann who made her own paper pots. She hasn't logged in since May (I think) and I really miss her. She just disappeared.
