I'm sure they will Dutchy.
I put some cornflowers straight in to a small bed at the side of the garden, they had just germinated, when along came next doors cat, and the rest (and the seeds) is history.

Nothing doing on the crossandra front I'm afraid , so I've just baggied the last four seed I have to see if that will work - they need a constant warm temperature so at the moment they are in the waistband of my slacks (family think I am crackers ) And I am blaming Auricula and Jasmine ... just sown two batches of penstemons, one lot Sensation, the other Navigator ;D Also a pot of aptly named chrysanthemums .... Crazy Daisy I can also blame it on the weather as I couldn't do any gardening again today .. who knows what I may find in the seed box tomorrow if it is still wet x Tig

I sowed some forget me nots seeds that Jasmine kindly sent me and a pack of Californian poppies that I found in my seed box....the instructions were all in German so had to do a quick translation and then ignored everything it said and sowed them in a large pot ;D

Thanks Tig. I still have a load of things I want to sow but I need to get something to sow them in. All I have now is some compost from a grow bag. Do folks think it would be too strong to sow things into?

No harm in trying LG. If seeds dropped onto it accidently they would probably get going no problem

I don't usually have much success with my own collected seed, but inspired by my new Carol Klein book I've collected & sown some seeds from the Pulsatillas. I did let quite a bit spill on the gravel in the middle of the garden though, if I was to take bets, my money would be on that, rather than my carefully sown pot full.

Jilly it would'nt surprise me at all if you had them popping up everwhere except where you've sown them. It's what usually happens LG, so far this year I've found growing in the gravel: Aqueligias Poppies (California & Opium) Various Hardy Geraniums Verbeana Bonariensis Tree Peony Chives Rosa Glauca Stipa Agapanthus & Lettuce, (I must have been sowing them on a windy day i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif ) Jillyx

I was wondering how your gaura were doing LG. I only had 1 seed germinate and then I put the tray on the wheelie bin ready to pot it on, opened the wheelie bin and my poor gaura bit the dust I'm glad you've had more luck.

Oh no Jasmine, ::)So far I can see about 4 tiny tiny specs of life. I'm hoping for some decent sized plants this year and I'll keep them in pots in the mini growhouse over the winter for planting out next year.

The blue butterfly pea vine seeds I sowed on the 26th June - one has come through , and I've got quite a few penstemon seedlings germinating, only trouble with seedlings is not knowing the colours of the 'mixed' types, but it will be exciting finding out x Tig

I've just sown some Astrantia seeds, I found them in the bottom of my seed box, I'm not sure how long they've been in there, but Ithink they were from last year, anyway, nothing ventured nothing gained, so fingers crossed and all that.
