I'm pretty sure I have 2 Geranium germinated but no Aqualegia as yet. I thought it would have been the other way around.

I sowed a few of the lemon aquilegia that Jilly sent me (thanks Jilly) about 2 weeks ago and I've got lots of little seedlings. I'm going to save the rest - and the geranium Mrs Kendall Clark for spring.

You're doing well Jilly. I'm pretty sure I've got some Lemon Aqualegia coming but the Geranium were weed seeds I think. I must have a look through my seeds and see what I can be sowing now.

I sowed lots of lupins, and they all germinated, and then something came along and ate them all up.

I've sown a tray of larkspur today. Must motivate myself to go through my seed box, I left it too late to do several of the hardy annuals last year so I'm determined to do better this. Also having the cold frame and the three plastic growhouses means I can do more x Tig

Haven't been posting much lately but still try and keep up with what's going on. I have sown some annuals this week - inspired by Gardeners World's Alys. Sorry i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/rolleyes.gif Purple poppies and Black peony poppies; cornflowers - blackberry fizz and double blue. Alys mentioned Larkspur - but I couldn't find any in the shops. PJ

? Can one still sow cornflowers? I knew poppies will overwinter as little plants. Thinking of it yes of course nature too sows cornflowers in autumn. Must be loads more one can sow.

I sowed cornflowers last september Dutchy and they're on my list for later too. Other flowers that can be sown now include. Antirrhinum+Calendula, I've had good success with both sown in the autumn. I'm sure folks will come up with others.

Some of my Mrs Kendall Clarke germinated and are potted on so they can certainly be sown in late summer early winter. Sowed some pansy seeds a neighbour gave me yesterday. I know they're cheap to buy and I'm waiting on plug plants coming but I thought it would be nice to grow my own too.

I scattered some Nigella and blue and white Cornflower in the bottom border where I pulled this years Cornflower out. Scattered some Calendula beside where I've planted out the Lemon Aqualegia, the seeds which came from Jilly.

I hope they are all lemon LG, that's the trouble with Aqueligias. I got some free Delphinium seeds from T&M with my last order, they're called Green Twist which look quite interesting. I've sown them and some Achilleas, I've had a good sort out and luckily quite a few of the seeds I've got can be sown in the Autumn, which is handy as I've got far too many to do them all in the Spring.

My Nigella are up and running. I've got poppy seedlings growing too from where I scattered them in the border and I'm pretty sure my Lavender seeds are germinating too. The Aqualegia are in the borders now and doing well and the geranium are thriving. No sign of the pansies.

The Achillea came up in about a week bless them & 5 of the 8 delphinium seeds have germinated, which is encouraging as they were meant to be challenging. I've got some Dierama seeds to sow too Auricula, (I fell in love with yours). They are meant to be quite hard too according to the packet. Any tips gratefully received i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif . Jillyx

Outside LG, doused with pellets, but I've moved them into the greenhouse to see if they'll recover I sowed the dierama seeds and put them in a heated propagator as it said they could be slow to germinate and I am impatient Jilly :- They came through in about 10 days and I just have them in an unheated greenhouse for now. I do like them

In a moment of madness I bought some banana seeds They are soaking in lukewarm water for 24 hours (it will be cold now ) and I will sow them tomorrow. Says they can take months to germinate .... patience Tig, patience .... Because of your moment of madness, I went on the Jungle Seeds website to look at banana seeds. Well they had a vast array of different varieties. I decided on Musa mannii as they were a dwarf variety. When I went to checkout I realised I had to spend minimum of £10 so I had to order more seeds. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/tongue.gif There's a sale on so they are all reduced as well. I ended up ordering 3 more packets of seeds. Can't remember now which ones!
