You do well with the Splish Splash Tig, well done. Hope you get a good show next year Auricula. I think I've made a boob with mine which are up well. I don't think I put enough soil in their little holders, don't know what I was thinking.

They'll be fine LG I kept forgetting, so I bunged them all in an ordinary seed tray and when they come up, I'll transplant them into 3" pots

Thanks Auricula, you're right I'm sure. I'll transplant mine this year too although I don't normally. I just think I put too much paper at the bottom of the toilet roll inner and not enough soil. I'll transplant them soon I think, maybe at the weekend.

I have got 9 lupin morello cherry now - all the seeds I planted have germinated but it's taken some of them ages. The first to germinate are small plants now.

Has anyone else tried growing Anthriscus sylvestris 'Ravenswing' from seed? I tried it a couple of years ago & didn't get anything & I tried a fresh pack this Autumn, the pack said sow Autumn or Spring, it's been in the heated prop for about 6 weeks now & still nothing i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/undecided.gif . I'm wondering if it's like Verbena Bonariensis, I never had any success from bought seed & then from one plant self seeding I've got it all over. On a brighter note I checked the Allium Scubertii, (thanks Tig) which are in a pot in the garden & I've got a few green shoots already. Jillyx

I've not grown it Jilly, but it is a nice plant to try. A quick bit of research and I've found it can take over a year to germinate despite some sites quoting 17-21 days, and best results are gotten from fresh seed. It is one for the patient gardener methinks (no point in Auricula trying to grow some from seed then ) x Tig

I don't think you need them in the heated prop Jilly One site I read said sow them in a cold-frame at this time of year (well early October actually!) x Tig

Thanks for tip Tig, they're T&M seeds and the pack said 70 degrees. Guess who's going to get turfed out to the mini GH when I get home. I've been threatening that for a week or so now. I've also got half a pack left so I might just try a few outside in the Spring.

If they were mine I'd be tempted to try a few outside now - says she who is trying to get some cimicifuga to germinate and has four lots all in different conditions ;D

Today I've sown geranium pyrenaicum and asclepia tuberosa which are both outside. I am soaking seeds of cornus kousa, stewartii pseudocamellia and musa mannii for 24-48 hours dependent upon their needs and they will get sown according to their needs tomorrow or Sunday. The first two will go outside to get cold stratification, the nana will be in the unheated prop in the warmest room I have and will join me in the dining room each evening to get the additional artificial light, as will the upland cotton seeds I've sown and the wild gardenias ;D Doncha just love a challenge Thanks to everyone who adds a little excitement to my 'growing' life x Tig

I sowed some agapanthus seeds the other week that just fell in my pocket as I was passing a rather forlorn looking plant at a GC I have germination ;D My cross pollinated lily seeds are going daft, hmmm I need to find a dedicated bed for them next spring as I will have a small plantation Looked in the cold frame today and despite freezing for over a week it seems that most of the various geranium seedlings are coping, they sure are tough little devils! Not so sure on a few other things that are outside, but time will tell Anything that needs cold stratification should be very happy!!! x Tig

Yesterday at Daughters pub I found a packet of poppy seeds I'd given her so I took them out and scattered them around, they've got more chance out there than sitting in the pub.

Well done Barbara, I brought Ruth over some poppy seeds and told her to do that too. Excellent result with your Agapanthus Tig. Funny how seeds are attracted to the magnatism (sp) of the pockets. I've had that happen once or twice as well ;D

I didn't get round to planting my jungle seeds in the end as I wasn't sure if I could nurture them through the winter. Look forward to seeing a photo. Hope your cold is getting better.
