;D Beanstalk sunflowers. How can one know for sure they are yellow when their heads sit above the clouds?
I must get my sunflowers in too but I will go for smaller dark ones.

I sowed all my Morning Glories this evening. I put them into dishes to soak this morning and Sunrise Serenade (thanks for the seeds Tig) was sprouting by this evening! I also sowed Scarlet O'Hara, Milky Way and White Feather (thanks for the White Feather Chuckles).

I'd soaked a few mixed saved morning glory seeds and then had a busy day, they all had little white shoots and I think there were over 40 seeds Now in the walk in growhouse - could have a mg forest if they all grow! x Tig

I don't suppose it matters about soaking Barbara - they just might take a few days longer to germinate which isn't a bad thing! ;D

I've run out of room, so a lot of my seedlings are going to have to go on the compost heap

Good idea Barbara. I've been sowing lots more annuals without thinking about where they are to go. Linus Red Dress, Cosmos picotee and Cosmos pied piper, Sunflower Black Magic and Sunflower Teddy Bear, Asterm Dwarf Queen and Poppy Black Paeony. Tig, I have been carefully watching my Cleomes and nothing has germinated. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/cry.gif

Sorry no-one is having much luck with the cleome, although I think the purple seeds were duff as none of them germinated for me, but I have got the pink and white ones to germinate OK in the same seed tray so I know I've done them right.
The saved MG seeds I put in the big growhouse have all popped up today, I won't have space for all of them so I may have to do some guerilla gardening myself (good suggestion LG, can't have surplus seed babies being abandoned can we!!)

My Emilia coccinea Scarlet Magic have germinated in the walk-in growhouse, and the sweet williams are showing!!! Two of the six cerinth major are through, but I had a bit of an accident this morning with a big bag of compost falling over and squashing one tray of MG seedlings and spilling out all over the sandersonia and nicotiana tray I sowed some eremuras seedlings last autumn, thought nothing was going to happen but today I spotted two green 'sticks' in the pot, not sure if it is them as I've not grown them from seed before, but it could be x Tig

Not tried those Geranium, the ordinary one germinates like a weed after sitting in the ground all winter though, so I can understand why they might say some cold stratification could help. Must admit, I would probably try to germinate them without any heat at all at this time of year, probably outside in a cold frame I've sown another batch of cosmos today, as I managed to knock the seedtray off the shelf in the walk-in growhouse whilst moving yet more stuff in there - need a bigger one already I've got really good results so far, I'm amazed! x Tig

The dust of lobelia tupa which was sown on the 12th March has just germinated!!! Nearly chucked that pot out as I've sown some more since thinking it was a no-show The hordeum jubatum has germinated in the walk-in growhouse, in fact everything I've sown in there has germated apart from the orlaya grandiflora, so I've sown some more of them today indoors. Last chance 'cos it's getting a bit late now. x Tig

I grew Lobelia last year and it did well for me, 39p a packet or something it was in B&Q, very tricky 'tho and I did'nt prick it out, just kept it in bunches. I'm going to go through my seed box this weekend and see what I can sow.
