My honesty seeds germinated very quickly - I 've found another free packet from a magazine so I'm going to sow some more. Also, at the open gardens I saw some beautiful Sweet Williams.I've never had those ( too impatient for biennials) so I'm going to try those too............that'll be 3 lots of biennials with the foxgloves too.......blimey, will I make it?? ;D ;D

That's just the way it goes Jilly. My Honesty have done well and my sweet william are germinated but very tiny and weak looking things they are. I've sown some Echanacea Magic Box, they did'nt do well for me when I sowed them in springtime and I only managed to get one decent seedling from them. I'm waiting on a few things to germinate at the moment.

I ment to say at some stage that I sowed Honesty. Many thanks to Jasmine for the seeds. They grew so well and are now planted out in the borders. Smashing leaves they have. Are they still flowering LG or have they made their lovely seed pods?

Oh yes, you've reminded me LG, think I sowed mine last year for flowers this year! I felt they flowered quite briefly but the scent was smashing and the seed pods are nice after they've gone over.

I kept mine in the pots until they were about 6 inches before I planted them out and so far the S&S have let them be. It would be lovely to get flowers this year but as they're biennial they might leave it until next year. Some of my Brompton stock is flowering and I only sowed it this year, it's hard to tell what will and what won't.

Mine are not planted out yet, they're in pots in the coldframe ( surrounded by pellets, the slugs must be bungee jumping ) If they don't flower for long, I don't know that I'm that bothered about them

They're really tiny seedlings when they first show. My Geum Blazing Sunset, I've got 2 seedlings, are getting their true leaves. Many thanks for those too Jasmine. I've also got quite a lot of Lemon Aqualegia seedlings from seeds Jilly sent last year. (Thanks again Jilly) I've put everything outside this morning as there's a right stiff breeze.

Your very welcome Tig...x I ''found'' some sisyrinchium striatum seeds on holiday, so I've just sown them in a pot of compost and crossed my fingers.

I sowed some lychnis chalcedonica 'Dusky Pink' on the 9th August ... they are up and running already Also sowed Geranium Pratense album - surprised to find one germinated today!!! I usually have to wait until they've chilled!!! Now if the others I sowed could just pop up it would be magic x Tig

I've now got nine half trays planted up - Lychnis 'Dusty Pink' being one. I did sow Linum perenne this week, although it's a bit late. The two trays of Geraniums are problems. One has four seedlings, the other - nothing. Those duff pens I got at Malvern were so bad that the writing has faded on the labels, so I don't know which Geraniums they are! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/shocked.gif

I always write my labels in pencil - but only stick one in per tray, and then I pot them up and sooner or later the pots get muddled up - so it's a surprise waiting for flowers if they are the same family ;D
I've got some seeds off my phlomis russeliana - need to find out when is the best time to sow them
x Tig
