If anyone decides they want their own copy, it's called 'Seeds' and it's by Jekka McVicar. It's an RHS book. I got it off Amazon... i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif However, I am more than happy to look seeds up in it for anyone - please just ask! It tells you the size of the seeds, when to sow them, how, and how long they take to germinate.

I've got some just collected white honesty seeds to sow today and I'm going to try the Cercis seeds I collected earlier on in the year. Jekka's book says to soak and sow now.

Let us know when you've found it Tig. Found it ;D Some can be sown indoors to get an early start next season, I've listed Laurentia petraea and Dianthus amurensis in this category. Others which can be 'risked' outside include calendula, candytuft, escholzia, cornflower, poppies and nasturtiums although the latter don't always make it through a really cold winter. Red orach can be sown now (it survives the winter in my garden, but doesn't seem to do so for everyone.) Geums, larkspur and hardy geraniums can be sown and then moved to a coldframe. Eucomis seeds can be removed once ripe and scattered where you want them to grow. I also have sown mecanopsis in October, they seem to germinate better after a cold snap. x Tig
