I've got signs of life in the ricinus pots, so the seed I saved from last year was viable you'll be glad to know PJ Must sort out the rest of what I'm sowing, although some stuff is going to have to go in late as I'm fast running out of space! x Tig We have lift off Tig. 2 out of the 3 ricinus have sprouted what looks like a little curled pink stem.

Well done PJ, the other one won't be far behind. If they are like mine they will need a little bit of compost adding to cover the open seedpod, not wet though, and keep watering from the bottom to get the roots down More excitement for me as the colocasia fallax pot has tiny weeny little green shoots emerging ;D x Tig

I resowed my Bishops Children today (the last lot got caught by the cold spell a couple of weeks ago, even in the spare room). Also did Tithonia, they weren't marvelous last year but that was the weather I could see how lovely they could be. Cobea, I had some seeds left & I won't be defeated i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif Stocks & Thyme (mine is a few years old & definitely on it's last legs) Jillyx

Well done on the sweetpeas Barbara, nice selection there. I haven't found my tithonia seeds yet, but I know they are in amongst the 't's somewhere ;D Today I've sown echinacea - Hula Dancer, Bravado, Magic Box and some 'dust' Barbara sent me, which I don't think contained any seeds, but we'll wait and see I've also sown a pot of Dierama, eupatorium maculatum purpureum, cardiocrinum giganteum and some tall golden grass seeds that I 'collected' whilst on a visit late last summer The purple and white cobeas have also gone into modules, the seeds looked very dry though, even after soaking for a couple of hours x Tig

Well done PJ!! They are OK for now if you can keep them warm (16-20c should be OK), and give them as much daylight as possible. When the first 'true' leaves come on you can pot them up into the next size pot, just in some mpc, keep watering from the bottom, moist compost not soggy. I let mine almost dry out between waterings. I got 100% germination so with the NZ purple seed I bought I'm nurturing 8 babies (not quite as bad as last year when I had 12 growing ;D)
