Don't they get floppy at that height Tig? Not really Missy unless the are straggly to start with. Mine are usually quite sturdy at 4", but it depends how strong the stem is and how many leaves they have.

Yesterday I sowed some more Sunflower and Coleus, Nicotania Sylvestris and Dianthus Rainbow Loveliness improved. I've also scattered some Night Phlox on top of some soil in a pot. All inside as it's like winter outside at the moment.

Mine are quite straggly, might need to pinch them out at 3 sets of leaves as they are all intertwining with each other..

Today I've sown some sunflower seed. Sarah Raven Taiyo
In the GH pricked out tagettes starfire mixed, antirrhinums (a red one I think) and cosmos sonata carmine... I've put the smaller seedlings that are in the cold GH into lidded propagator to try to protect them from the cool temperatures a bit..they need to be in the GH for the light as the conservatory doesnt have enough now Jeff's fitted a 'proper ' ceiling...

I've just sown Mimosa Pudica (sensitive plant) and some saved Hordeum seeds from last year. I saw some sensitive plants for sale on FB and thought the children at school would love them but I didn't want to risk the cost and postage when seeds on Ebay were 99p!

I'm sure the kids would have lots of fun with those Jasmine. Wonder why Barbara, hang onto them but as they may well green up again when they're in the ground.

I found a little folded up kitchen towel of Mirabilis seeds that I took off a weed/plant growing in the pool border in Spain. They grow as wild flowers out there. I sowed them today. The plant came out in the overhaul of that bed when I was there in February.

My Sweetpeas are up and the dwarf Sunflowers that I sowed at the same time... Forgot to do the Courgettes... Stll time for the courgettes I will do mine next week I think.
I planted my SP at the plot. Now fingers crossed the slugs don't like them. My sunflowers came and are now all gone into some critters tummy.
I hoped my Poached Egg plants would self sow but still nothing. Patience....

Shame about the Sunflowers Dutchy, S&S are a real pest. I'm not doing Courgette this year but my Squash are doing well. I've asked another allotmenteer to water them over the weekend as I can't get to the plot. I managed to destroy one of the Cucumber seedlings but still have 2 on the go. We'll see how many I have when it comes to repotting them again.

Ended up with 3 Mirabilis seedlings so I planted the 2 biggest in a pot this morning.
My wallflowers and Lunaria are all up - I'm used to Lunaria having to go through a winter period before they germinate so I was surprised to see they had sprouted.
