Here are a couple of pictures I took yesterday on our deck: Weather today - fine and sunny with a high of 23C. Rain this month so far 2mm. Sunshine hours this month 93 so far. Looks like it's going to be a long, dry and warm summer!

It is only a five and a half weeks until Christmas! ;D Ah yes, but, the reason our Christmas Cacti flower when they do is nothing to do with Christmas but is to do with the shorter days and cooler temps. Bud formation is encouraged by the above. Although yours looks very similar it seems strange that it should form buds when the days are lengthening and the weather warm!! Perhaps it's the way they've been bred over the years. "you, NZ plant, will flower when it's hot and sunny. You, UK plant, will flower when it's cold and dark"

Thanks Chuckles, you are too kind! I do love Roses and Pelargoniums too, although they are not everyone's cup of tea of course. Actually, I like all flowers really, for their colour and their beauty!
