MRH! Go stand in the corner you naughty girl! (Butter's for Scones aint it?) Well I can hardly say I've stayed the same for the last few weeks but, as it turns out, I don't have to change my ticker 'cos I now weigh as below..again!!!!

Ok I haven't weighed myself 'cos I know what the outcome will be! Where has my motivation gone? It carried me through from March to early August but has deserted me now! If it wasn't for my frequent holidays I'd've lost what I wanted to by now.

Well it's time to weigh in and look big (literally). I've put on a pound and am absolutely amazed that this is all, especially after my canal holiday. Perhaps it really is true that exercise helps you lose weight 'cos I certainly overstuffed with food and drink that W/E!!!

Right! Well I've stayed away for a month to see if the time would even things out and..... IT HAS!!! I've been up and down like a yo yo and I'm still the same as I was last time I logged in Christmas is coming so I really have to make a bit of room for that.

Can I play?
My sister came round yesterday and we weighed each other....
After the screaming stopped and I'd reassured the cat, we've decided to form our own 'Group' SECRET SLIMMERS.......a bit like secret squirrel but without the raincoat or trilby...or the squirrel...
We have been on SO MANY 'healthy eating plans' (and some not so healthy...remember the cabbage soup diet?....parp) that we feel that we actually know what to do. I've made weight charts, diet diaries and logbooks for each of us. We've decided to put £5 a week into a kitty each, and weigh in every Thursday...we've been through all our magazines and books as well, so we do have quite a good idea of how to do things (making sure that we have a healthy, balanced diet with lots of variation)
So is it OK if I join in with this thread? you are doing so well Amo and Superuthie <she grovelled>

Only if you share some tips!! I've certainly come to a stand still. And I do know that there are more watching this thread than will own up!!! (Naming no names here) And if you're really feeling brave, go to the Ticker Factory and add a chart to your signature. It doesn't have to state your weight, just how much you want to lose. You are more than welcome, I't just a bit of incentive. Well it worked well for Ruthie but I failed for my birthday ;D

Well in the midst of all this praise I must come clean. Weighed me'self today and wasn't going to say anything...................but I've put on a pound. I have to say I'm amazed it's only that much since I last weighed myself but it's creeping up instead of down. 3lb on since the summer (summer....what summer?) I have now amended my ticker and I vow to try again!!! All are welcome on this thread. The more the better. We can give each other encouragement can't we girls!!!

Thank You Ladies As we have several tons to shift each we're going to stick to tried an tested methods. I am VERY GREEDY so I like to go for the 'as much as you can eat' option of looooooooooaads of luverley low calorie vegetables and fruit with small portions of grilled meat and fish. I eat muller-light yugurts as if they're going out of fashion....and have the odd pack of crisps (french fries or quavers are the lowest fat/calorie option). I reckon that if I stick to around 1500 calories for now I should lose a few pounds. ;D Big Sis likes to use that meal replacement stuff, but I'd rather stick to real food me. One day at a time...today I've been a GOOD CPB... ;D

I have to say that the best diet I've been on is the Jason Vale one. Involves drinking freshly juiced fruit. He tells you what the juice is giving you etc and ensures you get a lot of nutrients. It wasn't that hard for me because I didn't have the caffeine withdrawal to worry about but it was nice to have something to EAT after a few days. I didn't follow it religiously because I do like me food and if we were out I didn't take juice with me but chose a low fat option. I didn't feel hungry on it either which I have done on other "meal replacement" type diets. Oh and the juice might not look appetising but it really doesn't taste awful, just tastes of apple juice! It's worth having a look at anyway if you're interested... www.juicemaster.com/index.php

That looks interesting April...might use it later on (I've got a looooooooooong way to go)
How's about some diet tips?
Never go food shopping when you are hungry!
Philadelphia extra light makes a great butter substitute
Never go without breakfast...you wouldn't start your car without putting petrol in it...your metabolism needs a kick start in the morning, it stops you snacking too.
A great 'filler' when you have a 'I NEED FOOD NOW' moment is a portion of Special K cereal with a muller-light vanilla yogurt (or other flavour) it tastes like cheesecake ;D (ish) and will keep you satisfied for several hours. (of course other brands are just as nice, as long as they are very low fat)
anybody else got any tips?

I think I've said this before but have a glass of water when you feel hungry. If you're still hungry after 10 mins then have something to eat. Normally though, you're just thirsty.

Where you would use cream or mayonnaise use 0 percent yoghurt by itself or with honey or mustard, depending on whether you want a sweet or savoury taste. You can even put it in a sauce. It shuldn't split as there's nothing to split!!! To make flavoured dips strain the yoghurt overnight to thicken it then add your herbs, chilli or whatever. Ricotta cheese processed with jam or banana makes a lovely creamy dessert with much less fat than cream (note: DO NOT use Marscapone!!!)

I have been astonishingly determined this week. I've kept a diet diary and stuck to good wholesome food, avoiding naughty stuff until I can see how I'm doing. I'm convinced that my willpower is paying off...I'm not hungry and I haven't strayed from the straight and narrow. Only a week I know, and I have such a long way to go.... weighing myself tomorrow when I get home from work (before dinner ;D )

Well, the best of luck with the weigh in CPB. Not that you'll need it . I cannot get back into the healthy eating lark. Just been stuffing chocolate into me having had pork casserole with saute potatoes for dinner .

I can't do this! Why can't I do it? I did so well early this year. Can't get that mind set back and am rapidly ballooning out of control . Trouble is I'm now using my fat jeans for gardening and there's no way they'll wash up to wear "out" again

An inspiration to chubby tubbies like me. ;D Go back to basics, write everything down and plan ahead, do you keep a diet diary?...it works. I know I've only just started but have been on SO MANY healthy eating/diets over the past umpteen years I must've lost at least the equivalent of a small person You have done really well...be a shame to give up now. (but, I think you're brilliant anyway!)

Thanks CPB. You're right I must go back to basics and I also must get back that will to succeed which took me through before. It is hard when you have an OH who does not wish to eat healthily (unless it includes loads of red meat). It gets a bit wearing when you constantly have to cook 2 meals or adapt what you cook to suit two different diets!
Anyway, I will succeed.............with your lovely encouragement how can I fail?

SR, I know what you mean. I tried to eat healthier by cooking more veggie stuff but he doesn't want veggie stuff so I end up cooking the same for both of us or something for him and I then end up wishing I was having what he was having lol
