As it is almost the start of another month I've decided that I want to loose 31 lbs before my birthday in August. I managed to loose 4 stone before my wedding last year but more than a little bit has crept back on . (I blame Christmas and Easter being too closer together this year ) This time though I don't want to diet so much as eat good, sensible food. I also struggle in the exercise department I hate any kind of structured exercise but I will spend hours and hours in the garden. As this is the first summer I have my gardening bug back into full operation, I'm going to rely on that quite a bit as well as the dogs of course. My ticker is set and I hope to weigh in on Fridays. I could hopefully be going for a nice steady 2 lbs a week over the 18 weeks. Anyone is more than welcome to join me. Summer is on the horizon!!! ;D

I would love to loose a few stone Amo.I was on diet pills all last year from the doctor but only lost a stone and like you gained some of it back over christmas. I am trying to eat healthy fruit, salads, and cereal in the mornings but i havent got the incentive to excersise either with 2 bad knees it not easy. I will loose some though hopefully good luck with yours.

Good luck Amo! I have been doing the Special K 'diet' for a few weeks. Special K for breakfast and lunch and a proper dinner - although their idea of a proper dinner is not the same as mine! ;D I also rely on gardening to be my exercise and so far it all seems to be working...slowly...it'll be the proper dinner that is letting me down! ;D

Good luck Amo...i know how hard it is. Since packing in the fags 4 years ago, i have piled on 5 stone. The problem is, i love food and i love a beer. I adore cooking and love all the bad things, strong flavours and everything else that is associated with weight gain. And if a mate phones up and asks if i fancy a pint, i'm up the pub like a shot and usually end up having a session. So i need to lose 5 stone before september. My wife needs to shift a few stone too since she's started her new office based job. On 1st April, we're both going to have a go for it. So, in are the stir fries and jacket spuds, out are the roasts and fry-ups (and beer )

Ooo please Shrub ;D. A little bit of company would be nice. ;D ;D I have my music on now and I'm doing the swivel chair wiggle (no funny comments now please!) Well it is exercise of a sort. ;D Especially the clenching bit Andy, I wasn't going to mention the non smoking/weight gain bit coz of those giving up smoking. But I suppose confessing that it does happen is better. I put on weight giving up but I feel so much better for doing so, I'm sure you do to? I'd rather have a little extra around the waist than all the things associated with the weed, especially cancer. I lost my 4 stone (not all of it gained from not smoking I might add) in 3 months on the Lightlife diet. It really does work but you have to work too, especially when you reach your goal. That's where I've fallen down a bit I'm affraid. So are you going to join in a bit of a weigh in too Andy? We don't need to know what you weigh, just how much you have lost.

Well I will join in too! I'm not grossly overweight ('cos i still smoke I'm afraid ) but need want to lose a few pounds before I go to Malta on 18.4. I started last Monday 17.3 and have only lost 3 pounds so far which is a bit disappointing. (I have cut down on the wine, honest ) I want to be 10 1/2 stone by the time I go so I can wear last years shorts etc! That means I've still got 11 pounds to lose. Just worked it out and I'm unlikely to do that in 4 weeks. However, every little helps. I'm just doing a "healthy eating but not as much as usual" diet (shame about the wine!) I'll weigh in on Friday with you!!!

Anyway, I've lost 1 pound (don't forget that's only since Wed). Onwards and Downwards!!

I'll sort of join you..........I haven't any scales, I use the fit of my clothes to judge weather I have lost weight or not. Not very accurate I know, but I find scales make me tooooo focused. Then I stop eating and end up putting more weight on cause then I get hungry . You know the usual story. Anyway ,I will keep my eye on you all and this thread .... I wish you all the best, I know how hard it is! [glow=red,2,300]YOU CAN DO IT !![/glow] FF xx

Oh, and I have just remembered, I learnt a very strange fact today. People who sleep well are less likely to gain weight... Apparently people who don't sleep very well are more inclined to snack ......
