I haven't got tickers showing 3lbs is great - well done! My doctor suggested that I only weigh myself about once a fortnight so that changes show more - in theory anyway!!!

Erm... what are fitflops?

Flip flops based on the Maasi barefoot technology? They are supposed to make you use more muscle groups whilst you walk and so you tone up. We'll see.

Don't know about them Amo. They'd probably give me cramp in my toes. High heels and toe posts do that!
Had venison steak for tea tonight, special treat 'cos they can be expensive, but very nice, and not fattening!

I was just looking to add to my umpteen pair of summer shoes and spotted these on Boots. Thought I'd give them a go as I walk miles around this garden anyway. I have those squishy gel things for toe posts. I love venison, and have a ready supply , game is so healthy for you as it's nearly all pure muscle. You should try a haunch very slowly braised with vegetables if you can get one.

Amo, have you got a herd of deer secreted in your garden then? Haunch sounds very good, but whenever I go to my local Farm shop butcher he's never got any venison in (must be waiting for road kill!) Used to be a standing joke that our local pub would have venison on the menu when a deer had been killed on the road nearby. Unfortunately it happens too often here. I see deer on the road on average about once a week. Nearly hit one once. Had a friend who died because the driver of the car he was in swerved to avoid one.............................. Anyway you didn't want to hear all that!

I could tell you a few stories about road kill pie... Daughter's close friend's partner is the local deer manger, if you can follow that.

How's everyone doing? Still going well for me and I've noticed I don't often crave sweet things (have had the odd square of choccie tho'). There have been cakes at work, for someone's birthday, both days this week but, apart from a quick thought, no you mustn't have one Ruth, I haven't really been bothered! Last night I had steak (a small piece) out of the freezer and it was tough as old boots. Don't you resent it when you allow yourself something a bit more fattening and it's not nice? Anyway, the cat and dog did well 'cos I wasn't about to compromise for something that wasn't even nice! I'm going to weigh in on Thurs this week 'cos, as you probably all know by now ( ) I'm off to Malta early Friday morning. On my return I promise I will be honest about any weight loss (or gain) that week!!!

I've been doing great on the food front, it's the drinkies that are letting me down. Stressing a little because we're moving the factory! I'm dreading Friday's weigh in. You have done fantastic Ruthie and I will be cross with you if you think too hard about the healthy eating whilst you are on holiday!!! Get out there and enjoy yourself, catch up again later.

Thanks Amo. And I will be cross with you if you worry too much about Friday! You're changing your eating habits to a healthy eating lifestyle. You don't have to lose weight every week! The thing is that, by healthier eating, and of course eating less calories than you burn each day, your weight will gradually reduce! I do think that red wine shouldn't really contain any calories though!!!!! I wonder how much I'd've lost if I had stopped drinking it.........................................

I couldn't cut out a glass or two of wine, and my doctor said that as long as I was sensible with the amount I drink it is fine. And red wine is better for us than white wine apparently. I've been doing reasonably well this week, but I did cave in and have a bit of chocolate yesterday. I felt so guilty, but it was delicious!!

Well, I've lost another 2 pounds!!!! This, I believe, means I can eat and drink whatever I like on holiday, even though I didn't reach my goal which, with hindsight, was not really achievable in the time scale without crash dieting.
All the best for weigh in day to my fellow healthy eaters!
See you Sat week. There'll probably be more of me again by then but who cares!? ;D ;D
