Oh very well done CPB. You're on a roll!! Get yourself a ticker as Amo suggested. You don't need to show your weight (like I inadvertently did : but us nosey creatures can all see at a glance how much weight you've lost. Haven't weighed myself this week yet but don't think it will be good news! By the way, you're my Hero!!

SR....you are very kind. Thanks for the encouragement..... The sheer VOLUME of mass that I need to shift is sooooooooooo intimidating that I shall keep the ticker for when I'm nearer my target. 6lbs isn't bad for two weeks...but I 'spect that it will slow to 1-2 lbs per week eventually....

Yes it's bound to CPB. You can't sustain a weight loss of 3lb a week for long if you are eating healthily and not doing a weird crash diet. It's best to lose it slow then it doesn't go back on so quick (or at all if you keep working at it).
Hark at me. Norfolk's answer to Miss Piggy!!

Well done CPB!!! Fab news!
I have no kitchen at the moment so it's either salad, takeaway (20 mile round trip to the nearest) or microwave. And I'm not liking it!!! I'm going to dream up something yummy from a microwave to cook in a utility room this weekend! Keep your eye out for the book to be published sometime!!!
Mind you we have been Wiiing the past few nights and it's been a lot of fun and hopefully working against the fat build up! ;D

That's OK CPB. No doubt you know that this is the way it goes. Hang in there and it will start to come off again. For me it's a similar story but not the same. I didn't PUT ON any weight this week

I REEEAAAALLLLY need to lose weight!!! There, I've said it!!! ( like alcoholics anonymous ) Since I have had hip problems I have been unable to exercise much ( not that I was ever really into exercising!) and I have gained weight ( the wine, cheese and chocolate haven't helped either ). Previously I had success with Slimming worls but got bored with the classes....so....I'm aiming to follow their healthy eating regime, myself,at home. I'm telling you all because that will be my motivation to stick to it. Wish me luck please

Hello Auricula and a huge welcome!! CPB, you've lost a lot in a short time, your body is probablly having a breather and adjusting. You have still done fantastic so hang on in there! I'm still without kitchen, I never thought I'd have withdrawal symptoms from using a kitchen! I miss having access to proper, healthy, well cooked food!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, I think I'm about holding my own, which I will be pleased with. I had OH hide the scales at the moment so I'm trusting to the Wii. And by the way, my BMI is 33 and heading down so you've no worries CPB!!!

Is there such a thing as a slimming-sausage-and-egg-McMuffin? Didn't think so....I have an urge. BUT I shall be a good girl. I might have a cooked brekky this morning tho...grilled lean bacon, egg fried in fry-light and 2 slices of wholemeal toast (400g loaf) spread with philadelphia extra light...who needs MacDonalds? ;D Welcome to the asylum Auricula....we all support each other here. I lost a lot with Slimming World too 3000 years ago (feels like) but, like you got bored with classes...I used to want to slap the group leaders when they'd come out with some 'scientifically proven' nonsense (especially when they don't really understand it and can't substantiate it)...I can't stand all the pseudo science twaddle they try and shove at their members. I went to Weight Watchers in the early 90s, and Rosemary Conley's classes (nearly killed me all that excercise) but I think that the only way to do it properly is just, get your head in gear, eat less...move about a bit more. YAY! I am more determined than I've been before...DOUBLE-YAY!

Yay Yay Yay!!!! ;D
Have you tried 'frying' your egg in water so it's poached instead? Just put half an inch of boiling water in the fry pan instead of any fats. I lurrrve poached eggs.

In the end I compromised even more.....had 2 slices lean bacon grilled with a wholemeal muffin, toasted and spread with phili-extra-light...it was delish.....

Sounds good CPB and thanks to both you and Amo for the welcome I am a vegetarian and am badly allergic to peppers/capsicums ( which is a bu***r as they put them in a lot of veggie dishes to add flavour and colour ). Apart from that I'm not a fussy eater and am raring to go on my new "Healthy eating " regime!! I also tried WW but with both WW and SW I couldn't help thinking of Marjorie Dawes on Little Britain !! ;D ;D

Chuklit and dussssst eh. ;D ;D I must admit I'm enjoying, well was until the no kitchen thing, piling on the veggies and hardly missing huge amounts of meat. I wouldn't do very well on the Atkins at all!!

I'm back on my fruit juice thing next week seeing as I'm doing fairly well with losing weight atm. I'm going out to Manc again in a few weeks and I don't want to have as much of a podge as I do now so going to get rid of a bit of it.

I love my veg too....I wouldn't survive on Atkins. I tried it once and although I lost weight I felt quite ill after a couple of days. I spose it depends on the person...my Dad would love Atkins as he exists on protein most of the time. The only veg he'll eat are peas....

Perhaps it's a man thing the because my OH lost quite a lot just sticking to protiens and felt good on it. I just had bad indigestion and stomach cramps and would get the shakes after about an hour. Good luck April, I'm sure it must help in small doses. I wouldn't like to do it for too long though, I like my teeth!! ;D

Well it's only meant to be a 7 day thing once every few months and it's really nice. Gets me all my nutrients and does a thorough detox at the same time. Just a p.i.t.a. cleaning the juicer.
Some nice smoothies on it though!

Oh well, my ticker thingy won't open so I can't change it yet but........I'VE LOST 2 POUNDS!! I guess it won't last. Must be all the stress I've been under lately 'cos I sure haven't been eating as healthily as I should. Must make a note to amend the ticker when the site will open, before I put the weight back on again
