I just want to remind you all, without (please believe me) wanting to be schoolmarmish, that this is a healthy eating weight loss thread. I don't think it's really healthy to skip meals or, for that matter, to only have fruit for a meal! Maybe it's 'cos I couldn't do it myself! Please feel free to shoot me down in flames!! (not literally though please. I have too much to live for!!)

OK Amo!! I didn't want to sound Mummish either. It just worries me when people skip meals. That's the easiest way to a binge!! (not that I know from personal experience y'know). I can binge without skipping a meal!!!

I have to agree SR.....skipping meals is not a good idea.... I am watching a prog. on ch.4 about obesity........ I am amazed by the sheer size of a particular man.

I've just switched over to that MRH. How can someone who loves someone let them get that bad?!?!?!?! 'Momma' has just made 'Sweetie' a little sandwich before he has gastric bypass. That sandwhich was enough to keep me going for a day!!! That's not love!! That's killing someone! They a past the point of moving for themselves so someone else is there buying, cooking and dishing up the food for them. And killing them!! Wouldn't you so 'no' you're going to eat healthy and get better first? Sorry little rant there..

Just caught up with this thread, and I would like to join in too,if I may? I have just started going to Weight Watchers as I would like to lose weight before the summer. I am due to have a hip replacement operation and the consultant advised weight loss!! I seem to be ok at sticking to a healthy diet for 3 or 4 weeks then something happens and it all goes by the board However,I am determined to succeed !! Good luck to us all ;D

Ooops - meant to say that I don't like drinking water and I can't exercise because of the hip problem but at least I can still garden. I kneel to weed and plant but have to pull myself up from my knees by using a chair It's a good job our garden is secluded or neighbours would think I'd gone mad!! ;D ;D P.S. The hip problem is also why I am posting on this board at such an unearthly hour ;D

You're more than welcome to join in Auricula!! Anything to help! I loath water but we've got to have it. I use a filter jug but keep it on the work top as I find when it's cold it's even more unpalitable! I also have the tiniest splash of low cal squash, pink grapefruit is my favorite. And I can't do the sip through the day thing, though some find that works for them. I make myself down the whole glass sevral times a day instead. It really will make a difference especcialy if you can go over the 2 litres a day mark!! ;D

I've got used to water mostly because I don't like tea or instant coffee (I only drink real coffee if I go out) and don't do fizzy drinks or squash now. I don't have tap water though - euch!
2 litres a day? Goodness I struggle to drink a litre!!!

No, you share SO!! That's not rabbiting on!!
I must admit to the odd celery/carrot binge when I know it's not a meal time and I need a fill up but, like Plocket says, a good guzzle of water usually helps with the nibblies!!

I should buy celery - I can't stand the stuff and just the smell almost puts me off life itself!!! ;D

It might keep you out of the fridge Plocket!! Only half a lb. It is down I know but I've been trying hard this week.

I can't stand celery either, more's the pity. I heard that there is less energy (EG calories) in celery than it takes the body to digest it!!! Don't know if it's true tho'. Amo, It's in the right direction, that's the thing! My "hovering" 1/2lb has gone but that's all. So now I'm back to my pre holiday weight. OMG it's 3 weeks today since I flew back................seems ages!

Well today started of as usual.Cereals for brekki them my sister phones me up to see if i wanted to go into town with her so i jumped at the chance. Then we ended up in M&S for lunch so i had a toasted sandwich and large latte coffee. So i have just had a plate of fresh fruit for tea chopped apple pear banana and some cherries. I feel as if i havent cheated somehow

Post by Amo on May 16, 2008 18:33:41 GMT
You haven't cheated, you balanced your intake!! ;D I chose Friday as weigh in day so it doesn't make the weekend so uptight. You can have a little elastic and hit Monday through Friday hard!! Logic really. ;D

Friday is weigh in day and also eat what you want day! (well for me anyway). I've just had a Huuuuuge plate of Chilli, 3 yes 3 slices of bread (with spread) and a "glass" of wine. But then I don't have to weigh in for another week do I.

Weighed me this morning i have lost 3lb but it is less than a week so im happy with that. I like your way of thinking Amo and SR weigh on Friday and then you can have a treat leaving another whole week before weigh in again.

Well done SO! To lose 3lb in less than a week you must be doing something right!! Back on the straight and narrow for me today. Had venison for dinner again with loads of brocolli and carrots and just a little mashed spud (with 0% fat yogurt but don't tell OH, he thinks I do it with butter!!!). Still had some wine tho'. Can't let it go off can I?
