I have bought a Clematis-'Rouge Cardinal'--I just liked the deep red flowers-and it looked such a healthy plant. Now I have to find a home for it. It was an impulse buy so I will have to read-up on how to look after it -

I have that one Biggles, it was one of the few flowers here when I moved in. Should start flowering quite soon. It seems to be tough as old boots.

Thanks for that info--WT--It needs to be tough as old boots to survive in this garden at the moment. If I have any queries on this Clematis then you are the one to contact! ;D I haven't got a permanet site for it yet-(I have just put it in a container for now.) but do you think semi/shade would be alright for it?

Always good if there is someone to blame. I couldn't resist the allure of two more Penstemons when I went to Homebase for Silver Sand.

Barbara--Many thanks for your 'Offer' for Crocosmia Lucifer--to 'Post me some seed' but---- I went to a Farmer's Market this morning and look what I spotted-Lucifer--just what I wanted! Your kind and generous offer was appreciated--It looks quite healthy and was in a large Pot. I will have to keep it there for the time being until I find a place for it!--Bigs

Been too busy to shop But I did manage to sneak in an order for 4 glass bottle wasp traps, a long reach flower snipper and holder thingy, some ceramic cane toppers on special and an etagere for the scented geraniums.

Had to look that word up Amo etagere, but what I see is a lovely cast iron display thingy. ;D You may have been too busy to shop but your sneaky order sounds expensive to me. ;D I've not bought anything recently but have my eye on lots of things.

When Madame Mandragoras did my reading she said 'Do not stop shopping' and I haven't been on this thread for ages...so...I have ordered another raised bed (for more veggies) and a Buddleia 'Pink Delight'. The monster hedge down one side of our garden is going to be replaced with a more manageable hedge and I have plans for a curved border in front of the compost heap as getting rid of the triffid hedge is going to give us a lot of our garden back but will expose things like the compost heap which the triffid hedge has almost engulfed. I feel bad replacing it but we have real trouble every year finding someone who wants to tackle it and last years plan of flaying it (think that's the right term) came to nothing as it would have to be done from the field side and there is such a drop our hedge cutter couldn't find anyone who had a tractor with a flayer that could reach that high (about 20 ft). What a lot of excuses for a bit of shopping! ;D
