Well......had my 1st proper lesson today and I was USELESS I just cannot seem to get my head round the gear box. It has 8 gears 4 over 4 and I keep losing my place! I have driven from Doncaster to Rotherham and back and I did get better for a while, but I am still a bit rubbish Never mind its something that will come with practice (I hope) Some of the drivers at work said they still have to count up and down the gears so its not just me! Got a bit scared in Rotherham cos there is road works and the carriageway was very narrow I managed not to mangle any cones tho ;D also clipped a couple of kerbs, but thats cos I was getting cocky and thought I was in my car All in all I loved it and am looking forward to my next lesson. Oh found out what happened to Steve too - he packed in (something I said??) So I have a new instructor - his name is Melvin and he seems OK. He said I did well and I should be able to pass the test so I really like him Next lesson 03/05/08 which is a Saturday - hopefully it wont be quite so busy - apparently we are going to Sheffield I dont even go to Sheffield in my car if I can avoid it. Off to practice me gears changes now then

Perhaps she practicers in bed with Karl ;D OOOOooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii I have been practicing by drawing lines ACTUALLY FB ;D I have also been counting the gears in the corsa (god how sad!) and talking myself through manovures as if I were driving a lorry. The South Yorkshire Police are looking for a mad blonde in a blue Corsa driving round talking to herself I haven't got to the stage where I am making the noise of the air brakes yet - but I can feel it coming over me sometimes

Bit fed up today. Melvin phoned me to change my next lesson So I have to wait over a week now for my lesson. I think thats too long - I will have lost my confidence by then and it will be back to square one. Some body is making this very difficult for me.

No practicing been going on in this house feel right fed up since my lesson dates have been changed. Even nearly a whole weekend in the garden hasn't cheered me up. I was so happy about it, but now I feel totally deflated maybe I'm just having a bad hormone day (its my age ) I will have to see how I feel after the next lesson. Might even change driving schools.........hmmmmmm - dunno

That's very disappointing, and I'd be disheartened too. When I was learning to ride my motorbike, I changed instructors. Lost money, but it was more than worth it. Hope the week passes quickly for you. And you won't forget. What a shame.

My next lesson is Tuesday 6th May, but I think I am going to have to cancel it. Dont think we can afford it this week what with getting the car fixed and taxed. Got a lesson booked for the following Saturday so might just wait until then, see how I get on then decide if I want to change driving schools or what. I am not giving up, but I have lost some of my enthusiasm to be honest. We had a new lady driver come into our place today and she was wearing a pink hi vis, god it was horrible Enough to put anyone off!!
