Its like a work experience thing. She leaves school next year (if she lives that long) Rather than pick her up in the wagon do you think I would get away with running her over in it the little madam her.

I was hoping for end of August but its looking like being September now. No more lessons for a few weeks as gobshite is on holiday for 3 weeks I am saving the pennies so that I can have some intensive training when he gets back. Got to pass theory while he is away

You'll sail thru' the theory I reckon KL, and then the test itself, and then................nothing between you and the open road!!! We'll all be rooting for you!

There's one thing you won't have to worry about learning KL, not like 30 years ago, when roping and sheeting most loads was common!!

Oh yuck pink chocolate would be gross!!! ;D
I was thinking about you yesterday KL as we were whizzing down the M6. Some of the male lorry drivers were such arses (just pulling out and the like) and I thought it was about time they had some sensible women drivers!!!

Pink Chocolate ? as long as it tastes of chocolate it could be sky blue with yellow dots for me ! I am not proud when it comes to chocolate!!. I know what you mean about lorry drivers, there are some real A holes out there on the road. Its quite scary now that I know how long it takes to stop one of them things and my one is unloaded I am far to petite and delicate for roping and sheeting....I might break a nail. I would have to get a man to do it for me.........Yeah AS IF ;D Im sure if I can learn to drive one I can learn to tie down a load, cant be that difficult can it

I was shown several times FB, but never quite got the hang of it I used to be able to do the knot that butchers tie up meat with, but wouldn't have a clue now

Quick update on this- we have now had to revert to Plan B ie look for a job driving smaller vehicles and get some experience then hope that new employer will put me through tests. I have applied to Parcel Force as they are advertising for collection & delivery drivers. If any of you out there hear of any other big firms after drivers please let me know. I am sooooooo fed up with my job and Karls work is looking definatley dicey - nothing on the books once the current job is finished in roughly 2 weeks So its all stress and no money in our house at the moment Great eh - still at least I have a job even if it is crap!

Oh KL, I was wondering only yesterday how things were going. But I think Plan B is a better one. Trying to find a firm to put you through the lessons and test. That is what happened to my husband No. 2. Apart from the saving in dosh, it takes away the worry of you using money that you may feel a bit guilty about using in the first place. Keep faith sweetheart. It will happen, I'm certain of it. Life is one long worry sometimes, but all will be well again. And disasters have a way of turning themselves into blessings. I should know.

Oh KL that's such a shame. I was only thinking the other day "I wonder how KL's getting on". I'm convinced it's meant to be though and fingers crossed you'll soon get a van driving job and move onwards to having more lessons. Hang in there

Well the Parcel force job turns out to be a temporary position up till christmas - I would have to be mad to chuck in a permanant job for that at present. Karls boss is off down the smoke next week to look for work in and around the Olympic venues, so fingers crossed I think I am going to have to go back on the happy pills for a while as I am so down. This credit crunch is so depressing every where you turn its doom and gloom and its getting to me I have even lost interest in the garden Thanks for all your support tho, I am sure this is just a glitch and I will soon brighten up and get back on the road, I am halfway there after all

No good news I am afraid, haven't really got the heart to go in to it all right now. Things are pretty dire for us with little or no work for Karl and that means no lessons for me. Cant even afford to do the theory test at the moment. I haven't given up totally and one day I will get back behind the wheel, just dont know when. Hey thanks for caring tho - you are a great bunch XXX
