I shouldn't talk too soon but the last 2 lots of Hayloft penstemons are doing really well. Much better having them arrive at the beginning of summer, or the months that are supposed to pass as summer! Still haven't got my T&M penstemon babies though but it may be because the postie isn't trying to get through at the moment.

How are your little T&M plug plant penstemons Auricula and Jilly? I've lost one since the GH went over and I've no idea what is what now but otherwise they seem to be fine.

My pink ones from you have come through the winter Jasmine. I'm hoping for lots of blooms this year as they're that much more mature.

That's good news LG. I've got some that haven't stopped flowering all through winter.
After Florence mentioned finding us after googling penstemons it amazes me how often you find this forum if you google an unusual penstemon name!

Even up here there are some still with buds and flowers. I'm amazed how many of the broader leaved ones are surviving too, just don't want any harsh, cold weather for long periods of time. They seem to cope with being frozen for short periods. At least the days are lengthening ...

How are your little T&M plug plant penstemons Auricula and Jilly? Of the ones in the collection we shared Jasmine, I lost all the tiny white ones (in about a week if I'm honest) but all the others seem to be doing fine in the growhouse. I'm keeping them very dry as there seems to be a lot of mildew about in there, even though it's been open since the last cold snap. A couple of cuttings that I took on the off chance when I was walking round the garden back in November, have rooted on the windowsill, no idea which ones they are, I was just going round picking of Penstamon shoots that looked too good to leave. Jillyx

Definitely lighter in the evening - BT was saying he has an app on his ithing that times sunset daily and he'd noticed it was getting later!

My late cuttings of Woodpecker didn't take - threw them out last w/e - they had gone mildewy - I find Woodpecker so hard to root i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/sad.gif I think I have 2 of the white penstemon still going - lost 1. Hope they grow then we can have another try with cuttings. Did you ever get your replacements Auricula?

Nope, but I'm not bothered as the ones I'd complained about suddenly appeared Lazaruslike to resurrect themselves I di lose most of the white ones though. Otherwise they're all doing fine.... and only one with a touch of mildew.

as only one of mine flowered last year I am thinking of digging a hole and bunging the lot in the garden just to see if anything happens...I did take some cuttings in Aug but they all died...I'm really not very good at them am I?

;D ;D ;D
I was going to plant them out before winter hit but every time I started to make a hole big enough I ended up digging up bulbs so I left it until I can see where there is a suitable gap.
