Oh well, that makes all the difference then

Indeed it does! In the paper they're being offered as the 'new' marigold or antirrhinum! It's obviously a height thing with the marigolds and not a colour resemblance!

My Hayloft collection has just arrived, lovely sturdy little plants, not quite sure where they're going to live once they're potted up as the growhouse is stuffed with Dahlias & plants destined to go to Mums. Hopefully they look like they may take off well when they're potted up & can replace some of the Winter losses.

It's good to see you! I opened the plastic tray a little while ago and the penstemons sort of unfurled out of the container - they are big!

I rushed & got them all potted on & in the growhouse before dinner, they certainly were bigger than expected , some had their tops trapped in the packaging, so I got a couple of unexpected cuttings that I put in water as I was doing them.

All the others are still looking really healthy, apart from Woodpecker which obviously didn't like the look of it here as it keeled over after a day & still hasn't perked up , think I may e-mail Hayloft although it seems a bit churlish when all the others were so big, that I got a cutting of of most of them

I would email Jilly although I have to say that I find Woodpecker really hard to get going/keep going/take cuttings from and it may be a losing battle

I had that one too, have resisted so far, although I have got a £5 voucher , think I may e-mail Hayloft at the weekend about Woodpecker, although if it's a difficult one, it probably wouldn't have much of a chance in the garden anyway, even if I did get it going

I did succumb to their latest e mail offer well, I need to bulk up my stock of nursery plants for the next couple of years so it would have been rude not to

That was my thinking Auricula and I've lost quite a few penstemons in the bottom bed. I would email Jilly - they are good about replacing duff plugs. A new one has 2 chances!

Yes, get on to them Jilly they usually get back to you very promptly

I don't know if I've mentioned my strange superstition with Penstamon cuttings, if I label them then they fail, but if I bung them all in a jar I usually get nearly 100% rooting. Anyway that's my round about way of asking if anyone has a spare Blueberry Fudge as the main plant is definitely dead & I'm not sure if I've got a replacement or not. No problem if not, I'll just have to buy the next Hayloft collection that has it in

I'll have a look, but my labelling is a bit hit and miss

Better than mine, which is all miss . It's only Penstamons that I'm like it with though, I'm sure it's because when I realised how easy they were to get cuttings from I did loads, labelled them nicely & they all died . All the odd ones that get bunged in a jar on the windowsill all together as & when I take them, root fine. Which is good, apart from having to wait until they flower before knowing what they are.

I don't like labels in a garden ( looks like a GC ) and I always mean to keep a record.....but rarely do so it's usually guess work, even down to what plant it is, let alone the type

I'm not quite that bad. I stick labels in & nearly bury them, so if the pen is really indelible & if I can manage to find where I buried it I've got half a chance.

I'd be fine if I just stopped at replacing my Blueberry Fudge but I know I won't stop there.... although I could just pop over & have a quick look . I potted on the collection of low growing ones that you shared with me back in the Autumn Jasmine, they were quite small on top (well I suppose they would be, being small varieties ) but they'd put on loads of roots I was really surprised. What are you ladies doing with the ones we got a few weeks ago, they're growing really strongly, I'm so tempted to get them out into their new bed, but I think it might be an idea to pot them on again first ?

FP0413 Auricula but I think it goes in automatically at the checkout, I've got a saved shopping basket that I add or delete things from (when I think I ought to give my huge orders some serious thought ) & it had updated that, not that I've been looking you understand.
