I'm cross this morning and it's all down to an order on Amazon. I ordered and paid for a keyboard and stand for Hannah for Christmas from Jenny, the cost was around £170.00 and the ad said free UK delivery. I went ahead and ordered and paid for it,then this morning got an email from them saying they were holding the item as there will be a £15 surcharge from Amazon to sent the product to Northern Ireland. Now why did it not say that when I typed in my address and post code and paid the money. Now that money will be held up for goodness knows how long before it is put back into my account again. So 2 gripes really, it cracks me up when suppliers say there is a surcharge to NI and the fact that now my money is on hold. Thankfully Jenny has sourced the keyboard elsewhere but I'm still annoyed. cangry

I would be as well LG, I would send them an E-mail telling them how you wont be using them again.

I did email them back and I have made sure the product is cancelled. I informed both the company and Amazon that I wanted the product cancelled and got an email back from the company, pretty much saying I should know that I'd have to pay extra to NI!!!!! No way because some companies do and some don't but the ones that do usually have it written somewhere and let you know before you part with your money! My money as it turns out in the email I got from Amazon had not left my account thankfully. Jenny got the keyboard this morning in a music shop near where she lives and they will hold onto it until she has somewhere at home to hide it that Hannah (little detective) can't find.

Ladygardener, you've often said that you can't even get certain things delivered to Northern Ireland - it seems very unfair when it's part of the UK. I would have been very annoyed too, and you did right in grumbling at Amazon. I'm surprised at them - they're usually very good, but I suppose it was an attached company, not direct from Amazon.

You're right Geranium, some won't even send and yet others will no problem. I keep telling myself not to let it get to me so much.

I'm afraid that's the only way of looking at it, Ladygardener, until the powers that be alter the system. Do couriers deliver from the mainland across to you? That might be a way round it.

Yes they do surely Geranium but the likes of Sarah Raven will deliver no problem but the likes of Toby Buckland won't.

He ought to be widening his 'market' at this stage of his new Nursery, and I'd have thought it would be worth it, Ladygardener. Do any of the other good mail order Nurseries supply plants to NI? - Beth Chatto, Beeches, Cgf, Larch Cottage, Hayloft, Crocus, Burncoose? I use all of them.

Crocus won't Geranium but I've had lots of plants from Hayloft, David Beales, David Austin etc. . There are loads of other places who will send here and I do also try to support individual growers, centres. There are a couple in Ireland not far from where Jenny lives and I've gotten loads from them too.

Yes it could be a lot worse, most of the time now when I go to a website I check if they'll deliver to me before I start making a list of what I want.

Nobody has whinged for ages...but my whinge is about a Kaleidoscope catalogue that arrived yesterday. It had '25% off' all over the cover, and there was a pretty jumper I fancied, at £29.95. I rang them and oh my, what a nonsense I had to go through to get it ordered! They wanted so much information about me, some of which I avoided giving, and the young man kept nagging and nagging to try to get me to open an account with them. As you know, I can be very stubborn on occasion, and I fobbed him off every time he suggested it. Anyway, after about 10 minutes, I was informed that the 25% off ONLY applied if I did open that b*(&+$* account, so the price was accordingly higher, and p&p on top of that! Be warned, peeps.

NPower, I've been with them for a few years now, I'm £104.33 in credit, and the cheeky bggrs want to put my standing order up from £89.00 to £104.00, well not likely, so I've switched to first utility, who will only charge me £64.00.

Quite right you are Barbara. Jenny was waiting on an item from Amazon and had received an email saying it had been dispatched, it was to come here to me. Then she got a phone call from the supplier saying that if she wanted it, she'd have to pay an extra £10 to have it delivered. So much for it being on it's way!!!!!!!! Needless to say she cancelled the order.

I innocently joined in a thread regarding colours of flowers in the garden and things were going swimmingly until I had to to emphasise and clarify the point I was attempting to make. To this end I added a picture of some coloured flowers to illustrate the background to my reply and save approx a thousand words. You can imagine my shock and horror to find that someone has stolen not only my picture but the words that when with it.
