I really want to know but I will be patient RF (but thank you for the very kind offer). Can't change anything anyway and I really don't mind what they are. It's a bit like waiting to see if you have a boy or a girl

I have just ordered £50 worth of penstemon young plants - 12 AGM varieties and 11 Ice cream ones. This means that I can begin ( later in the summer) a proper cuttings and propagation regime from named plants. I am terrible at planting plants out without labels ( Christo Lloyd once said a garden doesn't have labels, a nursery does ;D) and promptly forgetting which variety they are........so, now if I have labelled "stock plants" I'll hopefully, have a bit more control I expect come next spring, I'll be nagging everyone to let me send them rooted cuttings before I disappear under the weight of them ;D ;D

You all know how I stick most broken off bits in water, just in case Well imagine my delight today when the top I snapped off one of the tithonias by accidentally treading on it soon after planting has loads of lovely white roots!! How wicked is that ;D As the stems are hairy I was certain it would just rot, or go all droopy! x Tig

Staffordshire can be extraordinarily beautiful at certain times of year due to our unique micro-climate which is ideal for penstemons ;D Tig

Well....should my little venture be successful I'll enjoy touring parts of the country with which I am unfamiliar......a cross between Mother Xmas and the Angel of Doom perhaps??? ;D Mind you...I'll be looking for evidence of Teddy Bear abuse as I go..............especially rife in parts of Cambridgeshire I believe ;D ;D It's down to Haylofts now though.....................
