The Blue Tits didn't use the nest box this year - probably because next door's cat has taken to sitting on the fence by it Bumble Bees are using it instead ;D

I'm thrilled to see so many gorgeous images of bees on here...you are soooo clever. I've been crawling about the flower bed poking my camera up bumblebees' skirts this summer. They are remarkably tollerant... A young Queen Red Tailed Bumblebee on a marigold Common carder bee heads for a nepeta flower Male white tailed bumblebee on a helenium Tree Bumblebee Queen on a rudbeckia (cherry brandy) Buff tailed bumblebee (probably) on lavender Whilst the common carder bees are still visiting, most of the bumblebees have gone now, just see the occasional Queen. This solitary bee is still kicking around. and quite a few honey bees I quite like bees....

I shows CPB. ;D It's great to see so many visiting the garden, looks like you've still plenty of colour too. There were so many in my garden on friday, the garden was buzzing but my camera would'nt let me take a good pic.

They've been busy today and I managed to snap two of them as I was taking pics of flowers for my garden thread and a bigger one bumbling among the heather

Isn't it great to see them out & about again Tig. You can only just about see this chap, he's well disguised as he's covered in pollen, he was determined not to come out of the Tulip until he'd got well & truly covered

Well caught Jilly is'nt the purple wonderful against the silvery hue of the leaves. I bought 2 of these plants this year and am loving having them back in the garden. I won't make the same mistake as I did years ago and pull them up without having more to take their place. I've seen a few bees around these past couple of days but never have the camera ready.

Lovely Poppies too Rosefriend. I had so many bees around the Alliums & Nectaroscordum at the weekend that you would think it would be easy to take a few pics, but they where going so mad for them they wouldn't stay still for a second before they went onto the next flower. I've got loads of pics of flowers that had had a bee in them only the second before Here's a couple I did manage to catch.

Well caught Jilly. My Nectaroscordum are going over now and making their little cones point to the sky. The bees are still hovering round them all the time 'tho as some are still open, not for long I think.

They seem to out in force now, more bumbles than honey bees still though I didn't realise that the darker maroon bits on the lupin looked like little hearts from this angle!
