Well caught fozzie, not to worry about the size, when you click on it, it becomes bigger.

Neighbours bees gorging on the last of "self seeded" sunflowers. There is always one miscreant that's hooked on weed! Its a lovely cycle. Mrs F feeds the birds, costs me a fortune, she loves the birds so no problem. The sunflowers appear, the bees love the sunflower nectar. I help harvest and bottle the honey, I get paid in honey, I love the honey. Bird seed not so expensive after all!

One way of looking at it fozzie, hahahaha!! You can hardly see this bee, - it is covered in pollen... I like this - just lovely...

As most of you know I am prone to taking the odd photo or two It isn't only my plants but also my insect visitors who get 'papped' but I am not very good at identifying them these days so I do post on a local invertebrate group on FB and hope that the experts can identify them for me. Couple of days ago I posted two pics and was prompted to add them to a record keeping group for insect sightings across the UK as one was quite rare in my area. I did, and after confirmation of the identification I have the first recorded sighting in Stafford of Melecta Albifons! Little things and all that, can make your day Here it is ...

Every year I have leaf cutter bees on some of the roses. This year, it's the turn of Gertrude Jekyll, it's right beside where I sit and part of it now cut to bits. I don't mind in the least 'tho, I love watching them, they work so quickly.

I love watching them as well Ladygardener, - it's seems as though they just pick out one or two per year!!

Look at how this leaf cutter bee is holding on to the leaf! Fascinating they are.

It has been quite difficult to take photos of bumblebees this year because our new dog chases them...he even catches and eats the odd one despite my scolding him. I did manage to capture this one heading for a veronicastrum...

Wonderful pics Cheerypeabrain,- I think we are all still angry as to what Photbucket did to us all...I think they have paid for it but that doesn't help us get our pics back. Plus there were some pics from people that are no longer with us...very sad !! You can also upload pics here Cheerypeabrain, - look on the left hand side when making a post and you can upload pics from your PC. After a couple of glitches the system seems to work pretty well for us all.

You still can lift your images from Photobucket to re save elsewhere. Bit of a faff, but I have just done it.
