You would laugh Jasmine, I sowed nearly the whole pack in a pot with some other poppies & calendula & they are up & coming out but are tiny (my fault for not thinning out well enough) I just had a tiny sprinkle left & threw them into the bed I was making for the Dahlias so as not to waste them, just got the one come up but it's huge. I'm cutting the seed pods off of all the red ones & leaving all the pods on the plum one in an attempt to get some more.

Ah but the bees will have sneaked in. Just like in the photo. And they will have pollinated all flowers alike. Saving the plum poppy seed heads only tell you about mummy but dad.... he might have been a bright red or a white even. Ooh wouldn't that be good, to have a white with a plum edge. Rosefriend had whites with a red edge and those were real pretty. A plum edge would be fab as I have never seen one before.
I love all poppies although some of the doubles are too much for me.
Somehow poppies won't do for me at the lottie, the annual ones that is. Slugs or other hungry creatures I suppose. In the gravel at the front of the house they do grow but I now have only doubles growing that have a hint of purple but not a nice hint. I must not let them seed and get fresh new seeds for next year.
I will look out for a plum single one as I think yours are fab. Do yours have a name or are they happy accidents?

Thanks Ladies. Rosefriend this is a minor number of visitors on the Tassel. Often there are more than 5 fighting for a table at the restaurant . I will gather seeds for you.

Poor thing ...Took these today, bit of a bumble feeding frenzy going on here - some plants are just irresistible to them Yes it did - the strange thing is that the bees tend to go on the way tablecloth early mornng - it is a red and white gingham pattern which I absolutelyx hate but OH wanted and for some reason they tend to meet up there. After a while they just fly away - perhaps it is the equivalent of the local coffee shop for them!! Loads and loads of bees this year and now butterflies but the honey bees are still rare visitors.. Love the 3-some RF

Isn't it great to see them back again, love the white crocus with the delicate blue veins too. I had several fat bumbles flying around yesterday, but by the time I'd finished mission Dahlia, it had started to rain & they'd all buzzed off again.

I agree, it's smashing to see the bees again and that little Crocus is beautiful. No sign of any over here yet although all the Crocus were opened yesterday.
