My bumblebee obsession continues as well....most afternoons I can be found in the garden up to my chin in flowers, with bees buzzing about. It's very restful... Bombus terrestris on an echinacea ?honey bee on echinacea another sort of bee....or maybe a hoverfly? ? bombus pascuorum Bombus lucorum? red tailed bumble bee

I have spotted a few dead one this past few days! Don't know what is happening to them, there are plenty of flowers to feed from Mixture of bees and hoverflies in these (don't want to start a new thread just for hoverflies in flowers ) x Tig

We're all bee crazy ent we ;D here you go...today's offerings...... red tail on a cosmos 'Ladybird Scarlet' yellow dahlia, two different bees...buff tail and red tail...

There are no shortages of bees in the GWD garden!!! And look at all that pollen they have gathered Just a couple from me - think they are both bombus somethings (Cheery might know ) and a very fluffly one which I have named 'cuddlybum teddy bee' ;D x Tig

I have been chasing this very strange brown and buff coloured bee around the garden recently...anybody seen one this colour? I do love the bee pics and those wings are so clear

That is an unusual looking bumbly Cheery - nice shot too ;D Now prepare to be totally bee'd off with me, I haven't felt too great of late but it hasn't stopped me snapping they do love the echinaceae ;D x Tig

Happy snapping today and spotted this little ball of fluff ... Then a great big fat bumble came and tried to land on the same flower .... it couldn't hold its weight! Flew off in a huff before I could take its piccie ;D x Tig
