Good to see folk posting on this thread. I bought this red sedge uncinina rubra the other day and as it's raining and I'm doped to the eyeballs with flu I thought I'd share a pic with you. I love it's colours. Hope you do too.

I nearly did some more at dusk the other night PJ - and then I think I got distracted ... Must try harder - although my batteries ran flat today Some colours show much better in dim light! Lovely blue pot and tulips. x Tig

I know I swore not to ever try orchids again, but a place here had a bit of a sale, good discount, and this one looked nice and healthy so I thought, well, why not. At least I'll enjoy these blooms even if it never blooms again. And for the special occasion, I thought I would do a "flashy" shot.

A lovely orchid TT, I have one that was given to me as a present and it has gone on and on flowering, with new shoots arriving all the time! (I only ever 'water' it from the bottom, and it seems to like cold tea x Tig

Well, I might try that cold tea trick Tig. I mean, it can't be any worse than circling the plant at midnight of a full moon night doing my Gregorian Chants; which is what I've tried before without any good results. ;D Is there any particular flavour tea that is more effective than others? I usually have honey/lemon or Earl Grey. And thanks for the nomination.

Now that conjures up a wacky image TT Don't you dare go giving it honey/lemon or Earl Grey!! Do you want to kill it! Mine enjoys a nice drop of Typhoo or Tetleys ;D

I think thats gorgeous TT, and lots of plants love cold Typhoo, espescially pelagoniums.

I must admit that I'm not familiar with Typhoo tea or the Typhoo brand, although I'm sure it's around in these parts.. Tetley yes. I guess it's not altogether out of the question that there is a fertilizer effect by the "tea leaves." I'm honestly going to try it. Can't lose much from that, can I, given my track record in getting orchids to bloom again after the bloom they had when I bought them. I kept one once for about 4 years after the initial blooms died and it never produced a single bloom, even though the plant remained healthy looking. We'll see with this one and the effects of "Tetley", or maybe Red Rose.

Thanks for the nomination jasmine. I tried a gardenia (indoor, of course) last year but it didn't make it. Probably because it was upset that I didn't give it any tea. Oh well. I might try one again another time.

I've put my gardenia out in the garden - it is still flowering (must be all the tea I gave it ;D)
