I'm glad I skipped the surfing but I did have a try at wind surfing. I did it years ago but didn't master turning around!!! This time I seem to be a master of wind surfing for some reason ;D I'm starving now though.

May I raise a toast to Roan? Thank you for being a FANTASTIC host! It's been a brilliant trip and although our unusual form of transport seems to have scared the odd native I think generally it's been well hidden. I for one have had a brilliant time in NZ and have enjoyed all the activities you laid on. Thank you Roan!!

You all seemed to have a pretty good time at the BBQ last night, so a later start is called for today, your last day in Paradise!

At 11.30am we will be off to walk around Eastwood Hills Arboretum, I will take my camera, so there should be some nice shots to post later on.

As promised, I took my camera on our outing to Eastwood Hiil Arboretum today and here are some of the snaps:

First, a picnic lunch at the Visitor Centre.

Then a wander around the lower gardens:

We saw some lovely flowers:

Then we hopped into a 4WD vehicle for a guided tour over the hills:

There were gates to be opened:

And a great view from the top:

As well as some rain clouds:

No rain in town though.

Then back down to the Visitor Centre:

This evening we are having a meal at Mina's, a delightful little restaurant run by a Turkish family. She looks after the tables and he does the cooking. After the meal she gives the men a hug and he gives the ladies a kiss!

Should round the weekend off nicely!

If we were to have a White Christmas it would be nothing short of a miracle (white November/early December is more like it) But very graciously turned down nevertheless Roan!!

If you do come in the summer you'll have plenty of people to stay with. You can make quite a tour of it!!
