Hellooo laydees - I'm so glad we are off I've brought surplus toiletries just in case anyone needs extra deodorant or anything - I'm sooo excited at the prospect of some warm sunshine and beautiful gardens in full bloom. Has Roan drafted an itinerary? I need to plan whether to wear flipflops or walking boots x Tig

We've got EVERYTHING on board Supa! I've packed everything including the kitchen sink, although I did find a kitchen sink stashed away in one of the rooms over there...

Plocket!!!! We don't have any nude beaches here - yet! ;D The weather today is fine and sunny with a high of 24C, just nice and moderate to get you acclimatised. Our Itinerary will be flexible depending on how we feel each day. The first order of the day will be food - and lots of it! You're on holiday remember, so you can have what you like! ;D We will receive a formal welcome from local Maori at the local Marae and will take tea with the Mayor Meng Foon and Deputy Mayor Nona Aston who are old friends of ours. Actually, in a small town almost everyone is an old friend! There will be plenty of time to frolic on the beaches and in the water with the help of local lifeguards under the direction of Corey Hutchings our local Ironman! P.S. Don't forget your sunnies! On Saturday 6th we have been invited to a traditional BBQ

Gasp Roan!!! I mean that I'm a round lady anyway but cakes would make it even worse so I would end up going to the beach in something like a yashmak!!! It sounds like a fantastic itinerary Roan but I hope you haven't had to work too hard with all the planning. And of course there's room for you Dr Bill - the more the merrier! So I've got Blod, Tig, Supa and Dr Bill (it's always good to have a Doctor on board a flight! ) Who am I collecting next?

As far as I know the tardis is hired without the usual driver...........we'll take turns if Plocket lets us (she gets a bit proprietorial over it you know). So you are the official medic if you don't mind. Now is there anything you can do about my whiplash...............

I was just down at the beach and guess what I saw! I understand that because we are 13 hours ahead of you, you have arrived here before you have left. Weird isn't it! Still, it means you can make the most of today's sunshine and still have time to clamber aboard if you haven't already done so! And Plocket, I am sure you will look smashing in your bathing suit!

Plocket I have a larger cozzie you can borrow (it is boned ) .. SR is this the kind of whip lash you want? ;D Ooooh I'm all excited - we're off to Gisborne (got me sunnies ) Ta-da - here already x Tig

It is evening now, temperature around 28C today which was higher than expected. Popped back down to have another look at the Tardis, but no sign of life yet. Guess you are still gathering yourselves together at your end. I have been in touch with the Mayor and he is going to give you the Coat of Arms of Gisborne in honour of your visit. Here he is in the Mayoral Parlour with my wife, holding it up so you can see it.

Roan the souvenir photos are fab!
I'm not sure about a boned cozzie, or SR with a whip!!!!!
You are all more than welcome to have a go at "driving" the Tardis coz The Doctor is on his hols at the moment. Goodness knows why he didn't want to come with us but hey ho! And I have a feeling that there's a virtual medic on board so we won't have to spoil Dr Bill's sojourn with us ;D

By the way, if anyone else wants to join us I'll whip over to collect you so you don't miss out on the fun I have to say Roan, your lovely Major looks like a chap I've seen on television before. I can't quite remember but it might have been the Antiques Roadshow. I'll have to have a think!

Wow - the Coat of Arms will fit into one of the panels on the tardis a treat - how jolly kind of the Mayor to honour us in such a way! Just off to find the sonic welder Early morning dip was wonderful - not another person in the water - apart from the chap in the Jaws costume x Tig

I'm sure Roan would take up all to the Gisborne Olympic Pool Complex Jas, then you could have a good splash around I wonder if they have one of those flume slide thingies? Sitting in the sun on the beach is good too - although I am starting to feel a bit peckish

Post by roan on Dec 2, 2008 16:57:42 GMT
Lovely sunrise this morning The temperature dropped to 17C overnight, but will be back up in the high twenties later today. A hearty breakfast is called for after all that swimming you have been doing. Perhaps we can go along to the Olympic Pool and have a go on the Hydroslide after breakfast and before our Powhiri. The Robert Harris Cafe in Treble Court should be a nice place for bacon and eggs or whatever your heart desires. BTW - Was this one of our Time Travellers down on the beach earlier on?
