This morning I pricked out the dahlias, stocks and gazanias. ;D Sowed some more kirengeshoma as I only have one seedling so far. One of the cleome seeds has germinated AT LAST...I may sow some more tomorrow...I just have to have them in the garden. Sowed 5 helianthus tiffany seeds in individual pots...and some marigold 'honeycomb'....starting to get very crowded in the conservatory.... ;D

Who else has problems with how many 'babies' to prick out? I pricked out one tray of Agastache 'Licquorice Blue' and one of A. 'Mexican Sangria' yesterday, but that was only about half of the tray of seedlings. I won't have space for any more once I prick out the antirrhinums etc etc. I hate throwing the surplus in the compost bin! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/angry.gif

Don't know why you've got that armchair Andy.......you'll lose it to the seedlings ;D I know what you mean Geranium, it's either feast or famine with seedlings

So can you bring yourself to throw the surplus away, Auricula?

Post by Auricula on Apr 4, 2011 9:01:51 GMT
Yes....but only after I've left them neglected and overcrowded and they've given up the ghost ;D

I'm unable to throw any seedlings away and feel personally responsible for any 'deaths' Hence I'm much better at just sowing a few rather than a lot, I have less 'guilt' trips to deal with Well done on your forest of seedlings Andy they all look incredibly healthy Just an update on some of mine, in this tray you can see the Uplands Cotton plant, the gardenia, together with the morina longifolias, the pink mulla mulla and the one agapanthus seedling survived. These are the rudbeckia cherry brandy that I pricked out over the weekend and you can just about make out the shoots of the belamcanda chinensis popping up in this tray x Tig

Here are my trays of Agastache - three varieties. A. aurianticus, A. 'Licquorice Blue' and A. 'Mexican Sangria'. There are still some in the half-trays I sowed them in. And a peek at my Silene 'Jack Flash' babies.
