Affectionately known as 'Mollie-the-witch' ;D Looks very similar to the one Jilly has growing, and I have two seedlings of x Tig

Far easier to spell like that! I have one of Jilly's yellow seedlings too - is that what they are? How exciting!

I wish it was, I think Mollie thingumy whatsit is herbaceous though, the one we've got is a tree peony. I've never noticed the seed heads looking that attractive either, they're just big & black.

Ahh, Carol talks about baby pink new shoots in spring so I think you may be right Jilly. Never mind, Mollie Wotsit can stay on my Christmas list and I'll have your lovely yellow peony too!

I have just bought The Revolting Garden by Germaine Greer. I've been after it for ages, some copies go for ridiculous amounts of money - I thought the boys could give it to me for Christmas!

The book is coming from Oxfam and I've just had an email to say it's been dispatched - can't fault that!

It's supposed to be 'wickedly funny' Auricula. We'll see, if not I shall kep it for a while and then sell it on Ebay!

Got my book today. I was expecting something very large but it's the size of a ladybird book. Lord only knows how it got to be worth so much It's in really good condition though. Oxfam had it labelled as good but I would say it's in excellent condition!

The Clerk to the Govs was in the school office today and it turns out he volunteers for Oxfam in their book shop in town. He says they go through books very carefully to see if anything is valuable. They'd just sold a 1st edition James Bond book in quite tatty condition for just over £500 on Ebay. Someone hands these books in not knowing what they've got probably - what a great way to raise money for charity!

I bought two books in the SCOPE charity shop this week, one is Flower Painting in different mediums, the other is A Gardeners Guide to Perennials which contains a very useful A - Z for growing conditions, seed collecting and sowing information.

Both books sound like good finds Tig. I'm enjoying the revolting garden but I obviously have a different sense of humour to the critic who said it was 'wickedly funny'; it's quite funny but that's about it!

I did'nt get any gardening books this year. I had a little google at your bulb book and it looks really good Jasmine. I've loved looking through the guide to bulbs that I won here on GWD one time. Great to get ideas and dip in and out of.

I got Carol Klein's Favourite Plants book yesterday, as it was on offer when I was doing my Amazon order. Only had a chance to have a quick flick so far, but looks very interesting, some lovely photos.

It's a smashing book Jilly - you can hear CK's enthusiasm as you read the book. I love the chapter titles!

I forgot to say that I got CK's new book, Wild Flowers: Nature's own to garden grown, for my birthday. CK traces UK wild flowers to their garden cousins and Jonathan Buckley's photos are amazing.
