They're lovely pics RF, isn't it amazing that we were all posting Spring flowers when you were still covered in snow & now your Crocuses are out already. Love the bottom one with the bees, I expect they were desperate for some flowers to come out after the big freeze. The sunshine last week has brought out my Iris Reticulatas & the baby Daffs. Jillyx Wonderful spring flowers Jilly they certainly made me smile. A for the Iris - I planted some 2 years ago and they still haven't flowered. RF

It's amazing to think all those were busy growing away underneath all that snow. They are just lovely. Love these RF x Tig

Thanks for the info on penestemons in the shade folks. I think I'm going to give one a try; maybe a root cutting from one of the ones I have instead of buying a new plant so it doesn't cost me anything if it doesn't work out. Tig i have a couple of brunneras there, one is jack frost I think, as well as a dicentra - which I have to keep cutting back each spring - but the thing is the flowering perennials I have there all bloom in spring, except for the ligularia. I want to get a few others that spread the colour a bit more through the season. Once the spring bloom is over, all my colour there is foliage from some hostas and a heuchera "palace purple". Other than that I sometimes put in a few shade annuals. Things are looking up for us here too RF. No blooms yet other than a couple of "almost open" hellebores, but daffs and tulips are showing about 2-3 inches of growth.
